Driving 6 CIM motors. 10ft./s. 130lb pushing force. All custom made; built for acceleration. What does this mean? It means someone has to control this beast. Put it on a 54ft. field. Now put it in front of thousands of spectators with the world title on the line.

Week 4: Finalization
Crunch time. 16 days left to build, then it’s off to competition! We are rushing to finalize designs for the robot. After extensive testing, we’ve designed what we think will be an effective final product. Once the designs are completed and approved, students work non-stop, machining all the parts. Since every single part is machined in the lab, students work swiftly to get them all finished. Our brand new CNC Mill will help alleviate this process. We are so lucky to have it!
Engineers of the Week The engineers of the week for week 4 are grade 9 students Walter Raftus (right) and Richard Robinson! Congratulations, guys! They’re only in grade 9, but are already learning to design custom gearboxes! Thanks to Ryan Tam’s Design Tutorial, they’ve quickly picked up concepts like torque, gear ratio, efficiency, and staging!
