Ebikes are not allowed.

Cut off time at Echo Lake guard post is 2:00 pm. If you are not down and through the gate by 2:00 pm, you are officially out of the race and are not covered by medical support or event insurance. Juniors race in category, no juniors under 15 years old

Colorado State Championship

Eligibility Rule:

Only current USAC annual licensees who are USA citizens or permanent residents and reside in the local association area known as Bicycle Colorado, as shown on their license, are eligible to compete for the State Championship Title Professional men and women are welcome to race but are not eligible for the State Championship title, medal, or jersey

Please do not throw trash on the mountain. It is a special place, and we want to continue to use it Please put trash in your pocket and dispose of trash receptacles at Summit Lake, the top, and at the school Due to the sensitive environment, no off-trail use is permitted. Please do not walk, ride, or drive off the roads or designated trails.

There will be a light aid station at Echo Lake with water, hydration mix and gels. Water, hydration mix, and gels will also be available at the summit.

From Denver (East): 32 4 miles West on US Interstate 70 to Idaho Springs and take the "Mt Blue Sky" exit (#240)

From Dillon (West): 36 miles East on US Interstate 70 to Idaho Springs (thru Eisenhower Tunnel) & take the "Mt. Blue Sky" exit (#240)

HAVE YOU MADE PLANS TO CARPOOL? RIDER BAGS

Bring warm gloves, jackets, and extra food for the descent and place them in your Rider Drop Bag (received at packet pickup). Label the bag clearly with your name/rider number. Drop Bags will be transported to the summit. Please wear highly visible clothing for the trip down the mountain, this will ensure your safety in the case of adverse weather conditions. The clothing vans will be at the start line and leave at 6:45 am, 7:45 am and 8:00 am.

If you don’t reach the top, your Rider Drop Bag will be at the award party venue around 3:30 pm. Please make arrangements to pick up your bag if you do not make it to the summit.

Parking is extremely limited. Please carpool.

Almost all parking is paid parking, except the far east end of Colorado Blvd and the lot adjacent to the Recreation Center.

There are QR codes throughout the city, on the parking signs, this will make paying for parking in the morning when you leave your car much easier The parking kiosks are not open until 10am, so you must pay for your parking with the QR code

SHUTTLES

First come, first serve, limited shuttles from the summit to Echo Lake. Shuttles are not guaranteed, so be prepared to ride down to your car.

SPECTATORS

Spectators are not allowed on Hwy 5, only registered racers and official personnel will be allowed through the guard shack at Echo Lake.

WEATHER INCLEMENT

Please be prepared for all weather conditions with extra clothing, rain jackets, gloves, extra food, and water.

It will be at the discretion of the Race Director and Chief Referee to determine if the weather is too severe to continue the event Please follow the directions of the Chief Referee in the case of severe weather. If the weather is severe, or lightning has been witnessed in the area, riders will be stopped and turned around on the mountain.

CEREMONY AWARD

Finisher Party and Award Ceremony: 11:00 am – 4pm Shelly/Quinn Ball Fields 101 E. Idaho Springs Rd. You must be present to receive your award!

Stop by for a free Tommyknocker beer or root beer and a post-ride meal by McDevitt Tacos. Celebrate your achievement and congratulate your friends on a job well done!
