OUR PASSION BURNS

2

“This sport is a mix of commitment, efforts, determination, trust, defeats and successes but above all it’s pure passion: the passion that leads the LCR Honda Team into his 18th season in the MotoGP Championship. And for the second consecutive year we share our passion for this spectacular sport with the former Moto2 World Champion Stefan Bradl (Rookie of the Year on his MotoGP debut season in 2012 aboard the LCR RC213V). No matter how many years have passed because our passion still burns like our first moment out there in the racing field.” Lucio Cecchinello

Enginering Development for Automotive Progress Beside the sportive context the MotoGP Organizers are strongly committed to evolve and to enhance year-by-year the technology challenges. The MotoGP bikes and the related key components like tyres, brakes and suspensions, have reached unprecedent performances and reliability standards. All the involved manufactures are stimulated year-by-year to develop more performing, efficient, long life and safer racing motorcycles providing for a valuable contribution to the growth of two wheels vehicles and automotive industry.

Scientific Research for Carbon Footprint Reduction

16

Concerns over energy security and global warming are beginning to be a serious issue for society and, against this background, there is an increasing call for motorsport to improve its environmental image. Therefore the MotoGP Organizers and FIM wisely changed the Technical Rules in 2002 introducing the 4-stroke engines/1000cc (more eco-friendly compared to the 2-stroke engines/500cc) and extending the durability of the above mentioned engines with the clear aim to reduce the COâ‚‚ emissions. Every year all the technical partners and the Manufacturers involved in the MotoGP Championship steadily commit to decrease the overall carbon footprint for making the MotoGP a unique platform that aims at developing more eco-friendly motorbikes.

Technology Innovation for Safer Riding No matter what kind of motorcycle you ride, if you’re a biker, you need to protect yourself. To improve motorcycle safety many countries mandate the wearing of personal protective equipment such as protective clothing and helmets. Nowadays the MotoGP Racing Service companies give their support to this important purpose through the research and the development of high-technology clothing like the D-Air intelligent protective air bag based system shielding the neck, the shoulders and the collarbones. Furthermore the evolution in helmets design permits to achieve tangible and measurable improvements in protection, fit, comfort and reliability.

major knowledge of your own vehicle and your driving/riding ability play an important role in the road safety. Recently the FIM (FĂŠdĂŠration Internationale de Motocyclisme) has promoted a useful campaign in association with Linear (LCR Honda Team partner) and LCR Honda Team which aims to save lives and prevent life-changing injuries which occur as a result of accidents on the road especially amongst the youth. Traffic, risk analysis, driver/ rider behaviour and human factor are just some of the topics treated with the audience and the Police Force in several spots like High Schools and Technical Institutes.

THE FACES behind

STEFAN BRADL

43

T

44

he rider and his motorbike are the key elements of this sport but they could not succeed without a group of professional and passionate people working behind the scenes. LCR Honda Team counts more than 25 collaborators from 11 different countries that daily dedicate their high-level competences and passion to perform as best as possible every race weekend. Working in a MotoGP Team is not just adjusting the motorbikes, writing a press release, developing MKT strategies, driving the truck or cooking a plate of pasta. It’s living together 24hours a day. So all these elements have to blend perfectly to create a unique environment that we like to call FAMILY.

ABOUT WHITE BOOK Since the early 1990s, the term “white paper” has also come to refer to documents used by businesses as marketing or sales tools. These types of white papers are almost always marketing communications documents designed to promote a specific company’s solutions or products. As a marketing tool, these papers will highlight information favorable to the company authorizing or sponsoring the paper. Such white papers are often used to generate sales leads, establish thought leadership, educate customers and shows company’s spirit.
