So he comes out big in his first weekend event. Not only does he make his debut as a triahtlete he keeps his drinking up on with the team as well. Joe Ricardo referred to his debut as a triathlete when he turned to me after the race and roughtly explained it this way. “This may be another event to the rest of you, but to me its like the Super Bowl” Oh by the way Joe has been holding on to the Team Psych new member rear window decal and said his car is not deserving of having it on until he completes an event. Running in good form Joe Ricardo takes his last few steps as a Tri Virgin flanked by his team mates as he makes his way toward the finish line. Well this photo looks like a possible new tradition for Team Psych . As Joe Ricardo had taken off with the virgin wave, the team patiently waited for him to come down the last stretch to the finish line. It was Fathers Day Joe and I couldn't stick around to toast at the post race, but I did stay to bring you in to the finish line with a little help from my friends. Of course to the right here you see the decal that Joe pasted on his first triathlon swim cap to tell all that at that point he is a TRI VIRGIN.

Tanner Stevens 2:02:40.63 As for the race i thought the course was great!The run went through a wooded trail and even turned into a dirt path. shade the whole time. The bike had some bridges which tested every ones ability. Also good. The swim was easy, no chop in the water or current but the water quality was questionable. Seemed a little dirty. I give the Tee shirt 4 skulls. It wasn't as cool looking as last years but the color and print are both cool with me. I wont be giving this one to the pan handlers in the street here in Tampa.

Well the first thing I should say is Chris Mc Cormack did not show at this event. That is too bad for him because he missed a tremendous event with awesome athletes. Perhaps we are just out of his class. As fro Heartland Triathlon all I can say is if you haven't done this race you are missing a Central Florida gem. The lake is clean, pretty clear and has a pleasing beach front at the Sebring Civic Center. Congratulations to the organizers, sponsors, particularly Boston Bill, Sandra Chewning. Once again race director Cherie Starr has done her town proud. The bike course is simply a circle around the lake. You have your own lane and clearly no on is pulling out a car from the lake side of the road and the left lane was mostly cleared. There is a brief out and back with some sweet highway peppered with several mild rises. This lends itself to a fast bike back with the only enemy being slight wind.
The 5K has a brief picturesque part in a roundabout in the town center. That having been said it is Florida and the sun heats up quickly so get it done before it gets hotter. The end of the run has a

slight incline before you once again turn downhill into the finish chute. Last but not least is the T Shirt Rating. While it lacks any graphic and simply states Heartland Triathlon it is a sweet bright red tech t shirt that fits very well. I am willing to guess most will rate this at least a 3.5 to 4 skulls. MDavis Another great race at the Heartland Triathlon. Great T-shirt, visor AND insulated water bottle, yeah that is swag baby! Love the red t-shirt, it will be in the wardrobe rotation. C Bartalo: This was another great event put on by the folks in Sebring. This is one of my favorite races each year. Look forward to next year. Their goody bag is tops, but I'm not particularly fond of tee shirts with stripes so I would give it 3 skulls. Hank Williams the race this weekend was awesome, wasn't too fond of the last two miles of the race, but other than that the goodie bag rocked! It is great to see fellow

Great race, definitely recommended. This year the food (prerace dinner) was worthless, and it was a real disappointment that Chris McCormick didn't show up, but overall it was still a favorite race. The race shirt was 4 out of 5 skulls in my book. James Cass
