REGIONAL CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP The race director of the Longleaf Triathlon is extremely excited about hosting this year’s Club Championship for our region. They want to bring as many clubs to the race as possible so as an incentive they are offering a $10 discount to ANY participant who registers as a member of one of our Florida clubs. This discount is good for both the Sprint as well as the Olympic Distance race (even though only the Olympic distance participants will be scored for points). To get the discount please use the Invitation Code “FLCLUB” on the first page of registration on IMAthlete. Each participant MUST select a club from the pulldown menu in order to be registered under your club. Each club will submit a roster by September 15th which will be cross referenced against the IMAthlete registration list. A brief clinic on open water swimming will be provided for any novice swimmers. 1/4 mile loop.. These open water swims are designed to accommodate two groups. Group one is non-swimmer, the I am afraid to stick my head in the water, don't like water I cant see the bottom, etc. Become an athlete who would like to be more comfortable in the water. The goal is to get you ready for your first triathlon. Group two is the accomplished swimmer refining the open water swim techniques.

What is your greatest triathlon moment or story? Not sure I have a great story but I have some memorable events. Meeting Dave Scott, Scott Tinley and Scott Molina at a triathlon clinic prior to an ESM race in Ft DeSoto. The next day they let us start in the first wave, I think the entire race passed me in the swim! I raced the first HyVee Triathlon in Des Moines. I learned a lesson about diet prior to race day so now avoid all those foods. I really enjoyed the race venue even though I was dragging my body through it on the run. Once at Crystal River Tri I swam around those rocks I fear and had to swim back - how could that happen? What inspires me is training partners. They get you out to do the training and enjoy it. My favorite part about triathlon is‌ transition - it makes me laugh Guilty Pleasures: chicken wings What drew you to Team Psych? Having fun at socials.
