Hi, Its Bailey Monarch. I am the walk coordinator for the Tampa Bay NEDA walk. I would like to invite you again to participate in a fabulous marketing and philanthropic opportunity – the Tampa Bay NEDA Walk. I am now a typical 19 year old freshman at college; but three and a half years ago, I found myself engulfed by a disease that I knew nothing about – anorexia. As part of my recovery, I wanted to unite the Tampa Bay community to raise awareness of eating disorders so that no one would have to face the pain and suffering that my family and I had to endure. In 2011, I created the first Tampa Bay NEDA walk and had 351 walkers and raised just under $34,000. In 2012, Tampa Bay, together with the sponsors, again rose to the challenge. Because of people like you,Tampa Bay's Second Annual National Eating Disorders Association Walk had 426 walkers and raised over $65,000! This year we hope to far surpass that number! However, I would love to have more treatment centers sponsor, form teams, and get involved in the walk. I want people that are struggling to be able to meet the professionals, have some one to talk to, and hopefully find the appropriate treatment center to jhelp them begin their journey to recovery. Over the past year, we have been contacted by many people who are struggling and don't know where to turn. My goal is for everyone struggling to be able to find help and support. The 2013 St. Pete Beach Classic is holding a competition among interested area clubs and their supporters! Here’s how it works – When one of your members or supporters registers to run in any one of our competitions (Half-marathon, 10K, 5K, Duo, Marathon Challenge or Kids Dashes), they will have the opportunity to select the name of a participating club from a drop-down menu. The club with the most entries will receive a $250 donation from the Classic!! To include your club in the competition, please indicate your desire to participate and you will be added to the drop-down list!! Our newest member is Eric Schweitzer #203. He is located somewhere in Pinellas. He just purchased his new membership. We will find out more about him when he fills out his membership application. If we don't get his information soon, he will get extra assignments of swabbing the deck and bike chain cleaning.
As many of you know a concerted effort is being made to keep ourmembership current. If your membership has elapsed, please renew. As of January 1 any member that has not renewed will be removed from our membership list. This list embers of current goes to USAT to let them know how many CURRENT members we have. This list also goes to the new IRONMAN Triathlon
Club program. Again we are in divisions in each of these based on CURRENT membership. IRONMAN will be extending perks to
members. We also send our number of members to obtain club insurance which cost is based on number of club members. Obviously it penalizes us to keep members that have not renewed and pay per head. Every day it becomes increasing clear that there are perks to belonging to a triathlon club. It is obviously your best choice to be with Team Psych Triathlon Club. ;-)
A little story about this picture: I posted this up on facebook and created an album for our End of the Year Party. As usual the facebook puts these squares on peoples faces so you can tag them. In addition to Carolyn and Bill it also tagged El Fuego. Who would have thought of it?
Team Psych End of Year party was partly sponsored by Boston Bill Sunglasses with an attitude. Lucky members walked out wearing sunglasses at night. The 50/50 raffle for Success 4 Kids & Families, our pet charity that provides
counseling for teens. The amount raised was $75 and the winner was Mark Davis. Mr. Davis donated his half back to Success 4 Kids & Families. Members were awarded the coveted Skull awards by Nicole Davis for their achievements, challenges and promises to the 2013 season. Special thanks to Sonja Harrell for setting up the social at Flight. The food was excellent and drinks were on special just for Team Psych. The management will be kicking back 20% of the nite’s take to SK4F. From there many of us proceeded to O”Brien’s Pub. That is where the infamous out of focus picture was taken. At our next social we need volunteers: Greeter : to give folks personalized name tags. Photographer: to take pics that are in focus Drink ticket dispenser: will will give out several winning tickets to cover a drink— You must have a current membership card to get one.

February 22 & 23. Volunteers needed Friday 10:00 am—6:00PM. Saturday 8:00 am— 4:00PM Your ideas on how to present ourselves, your volunteering at the booth particularly helpful. Does anyone have a woman mannequin or blow up doll that is g rated that could model our outfit? Last year we Tattoo’ed nearly 1500 runners , How many this year ? Come volunteer and help out at the expo and the 5K & 15K Water Stop.
These tattoos had to be personally applied, It’s a dirty thankless job but somebody’s got to do it!

Saturday February 23rd 5K & 15K Come volunteer and help out at the 5K & 15K Water Stop. For three years we have manned the last water stop at the Gasparilla. Last year folks flashed us their tattoos, Yelled Aaarrggh at us, and some just wanted water. This year we are going to put on the show for the runners. We are working on some surprises for our volunteers that step forward.
Team Psych Tent will be there. We will tattoo all the kids we can. Last year there were 1600 children.
