NEW YEAR, NEW STEW! Welcome to FY 19! Our team sees each year-end closing as a chance to reflect upon all that we have accomplished together. Team Stewardship has made significant change in our office by helping us to better understand our needs and the needs of units. This collaboration has exceeded our expectations by elevating Stewies campus-wide, and we've enjoyed becoming a part of your professional journeys. Most importantly, we are thankful that you've been a part of our team's success! In FY18, we were able to rollout new Presidents Club levels, Cumulative Giving Societies recognition, Endowed Faculty Impact Reports, and new acknowledgements for our Georgia Commitment Scholarships. Your voices and friendships made it possible for us to implement our new ideas. THANK YOU!

IDEAS FOR 2019 Make poster-voting a process by inviting DAR colleagues to vote, too! Add another table to the poster station Mark the path to photos and frame with balloons Use flags for all station signs-magic packs blow down in the spring wind Focus on the acts, not station numbers (ex. key words for sign the card, write a note, make a poster) Survey what brought students to TADD
POSTER CONTEST SUCCESS! Our poster contest participation doubled this year! Congratulations to our winners, Georgia 4-H and Franklin College. Posters had hundreds of likes on Facebook, and Milledge Center enjoyed judging the all-around contest.

DID YOU KNOW? DONOR FACTS Thank you to everyone who managed a sign! Participation increased this year, with multiple students finding all 21 signs. We hope to push this earlier in the week for 2019 through UGA's social media.

CHARTER MEMBER STEWARDSHIP Lapel Pin & Decal 1961 Club Annual Report Donor Listing in fall 2018 Black Alumni Newsletter Early Registration for Black Alumni Homecoming Activities
The Black Alumni Association Scholarship was established in 1981 and went largely forgotten until the first awards were disbursed to two freshmen in 2008. With the development of the Black Alumni Leadership Council, the discussion re-emerged in fiscal year 2015. The push to create the 1961 Club by Council members and the Alumni Association effectively raised over $61,000 to the scholarship in fiscal year 2018! All of the Council's goals were reached, but the next step is stewarding these 600+ Charter member donors appropriately and in a meaningful way. 1961 Club gifts and associated stewardship will serve to engage alumni through a trustworthy and accessible connection point back to the University. The Club, named after the date of desegregation at UGA, encourages one-time and recurring gifts. Benefits include recognition, events, and branded membership items, but its main stewardship goal is to break down the campaign into bite-sized pieces to re-engage alumni back to their alma mater.

INDIVIDUAL IMPACT DONOR RELATIONS & STEWARDSHIP "YESTERDAY, YOU TOUCHED MY HEART BEYOND ANY DESCRIPTION THAT WORDS COULD EVER ADEQUATELY DESCRIBE. WHAT A SUPER SPECIAL EVENT… IN THE PRESIDENT’S HOME, WITH SO MANY CHERISHED FRIENDS, STUDENTS, AND GUESTS! AND… STRAWBERRY PIE! OOO- LA- LA! ..."
vent E e h t g Plannin PERSISTENCE IS A VIRTUE
Working with multiple calendars involves a lot of back-and-forth between your donor and venues/key individuals. Don't give up! You'll find a date eventually, and it will be fantastic! INVITING THE RIGHT PEOPLE
A donor-centered event includes those the donor wants to see, not just a bunch of UGA staff. Invite family, friends, people from the past, and those who have benefitted from gifts.
JULY 2018
FIND THE RIGHT PLACE
Host your event at a place that means something to the donor. When celebrating cumulative impact, its all about thoughtful planning. INCORPORATING SPECIAL TOUCHES
Be intentional when planning your menu, decor, or take-aways. A donor at this level has already bought into our mission, so you can be creative about this stewardship. It doesn't have to be a standard UGA event from a box.

e Book h t g n i k Ma FIND THE RIGHT TOOL
We found that Mixbook served our purpose well, with several size and binding options, minimal templates, fonts that leaned to UGA branding, and quick printing turn-around. CREATE A TIMELINE & STICK TO IT!
Prepare for three full months of project planning and completion. Work back from your due date, and stick to your goals along the way. It can really catch up to you at the end. DELEGATE
This is not a one-man task. It takes photographs, quotes, editing, designing, giving research, and coordinating with your colleagues. Don't be afraid to reach out for help! "... MY BOOK IS GORGEOUS, THOUGHTFUL, BEAUTIFULLY DESIGNED, AND FILLED WITH HEARTWARMING MESSAGES. WHAT AN AMAZINGLY WONDERFUL TRIBUTE TO THIRTY YEARS." -MISSIE

GEORGIA COMMITMENT SCHOLARSHIPS DONOR RELATIONS & STEWARDSHIP CORPORATE & FOUNDATION RELATIONS Donor Relations and Stewardship continues to steward GCS scholarship donors with consistent mailings and student gratitude. Communication begins with a letter from Kelly Kerner as the scholarship is created, and impact mailings commence as soon the fund disburses its first scholarship. Lauren Schlesinger and Abby Bryant mail Notification of Recipient Letters each fall and Gratitude Reports each spring to donor representatives. They also coordinate opportunities for students to write hand-written notes and film Thank View video messages that are delivered throughout the year. For questions about these communications, please reach out to Lauren and Abby! Corporate and Foundation Relations coordinates programs for recipients of Georgia Commitment Scholarships. Brittany Adams works with Academic Enhancement to provide GCS scholarship recipients with appropriate programming, and CFR is soon welcoming a new position that will liaison with our Academic Enhacement professionals in a full-time capacity. Brittany's current programming includes announcements of university-wide events and specially created meetings designed specifically for these students. Past program plans have included: semester welcome back meetings, roundtable learning sessions, basketball games, and announcements of lectures. See the Power Point in Resources that includes a sample calendar. In addition to GCS programming, CFR has hosted a G-Day tailgate for recipients, donors, and staff; coordinated stewardship meetings with donors and their individual recipients; and developed a campaign video highlighting a GCS student and her donor. If you have questions about how many GCS scholarships have been funded, or if you would like to work with CFR to steward these funds, Stewies Brittany Adams and Alex Wood see themselves as resources for you! See their contact information to the right. When planning to work with GCS recipients, please remember the sensitivity of financial need. Stewardship and announcements must follow federal guidelines of FERPA regarding the sharing of student information. Students have the right to privacy.
