Tri-State Bird Rescue & Research, located in Newark, is a non-profit organization dedicated to saving birds’ lives and returning them to the wild. The organization’s two main programs are the wild bird clinic and the oil program. The clinic provides expert care to nearly 3,000 native wild birds brought to them by concerned members of the community. The oil spill response team travels locally and internationally to rehabilitate wildlife affected by oil spills. Notably, the team led
the oiled bird rehabilitation at the Gulf spill in 2010. Join Tri-State on Sunday, May 4th, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., rain or shine, for their annual Open House. Take a tour of the wild bird clinic and a peek at baby birds in the nursery. Exhibitors will be on hand, and food and merchandise will be available for purchase. Kitchen Design: We’ve all heard the popular phrase, “home is where the heart is” and I think the heart of a home starts in the kitchen. I recently had a buyer looking for a larger home for their expanding family. Based on area, school systems, etc., the budget was not allowing for a home with remodeled kitchen and bathrooms.
