Shirley moved to Chelsea, Alabama in 1995 from Nashville, Tennessee. She actually met her husband the very first week of living in Alabama. She and Brett have four kids; Ellie, Addison, William, and Bryant. Because Shirley and Brett homeschool their children, freedom, flexibility, and availability are all super important. Their kids also take part in extracurricular activities where they spend a lot of their days at ballparks and rec centers. The Hall family also spends a lot of time at church and at Hargis Christian Camp serving and helping point people to Jesus.

It is important to them that they raise their family in a Godly home. Shirley Hall has been in real estate for 9 years. She got into real estate because she didn’t want to have to go into an office every day and wanted to be able to be at home more with her children. Before getting her license, she was a high school teacher for 2 years.

When she and her husband had their first daughter in 2009, she decided to stay home with her until becoming a Realtor in 2014. One struggle Shirley has encountered has been making herself too available to her clients. She has learned to create healthy boundaries so that she has a better sense of balance. Shirley says the best piece of advice she got as a new agent, was to maintain her integrity. No matter who is looking or not looking, always do what you say you’re going to do when you say you’re going to do it.

The one piece of advice she wishes she’d gotten earlier is to NOT pay thousands of dollars for lead services. The biggest influence in her career has been Chad Beasley. She says every time she encountered Chad he was very friendly and seemed genuine. She says that now that she knows Chad. She knows he IS actually genuine and DOES wish nothing but the best for others.

Her favorite thing about eXp is the willingness to help and the kindness she's experienced from all the agents. She says everyone she has come into contact with at eXp has been very friendly. They genuinely just want to help. Shirley also has a great deal of respect for our broker, David Lucas, who has helped her not lose her mind in many cases. Shirley says her husband has played a huge part in her success. She says she could not do half of what she does without him. He is always there to drive her to showings, keep the kids at home, or calm her down when the stress becomes high. She says, The Lord has blessed me abundantly and He keeps me sane and on track. We all have those transactions that make you question everyone, but the Lord reminds me of who I am and what I am called to do.

Which is to serve him and serve others. Just when I start to think I can't do it anymore, the Lord reminds me that real estate is what He has called me to do. He drops listings in my lap and I KNOW it is Him telling me to stay the course. We try to be good stewards of what we are given and that looks different for everyone. I know people think I have lost my mind for handling all of my work on my own, but it's just how I was made. I enjoy being involved in the entire transaction. I love that I can literally write a contract or an addendum, or upload to skyslope while I am RIDING (not driving) down the road with my family or sitting at a ballpark watching my kids play.”

Shirley is so happy to have Brett join her in the business in 2022 when he passed the real estate exam. Exp makes perfect sense for a husband-wife team. Shirley is a 2 time ICON, working on number 3.
