Instructional Advocacy and Professional Development The Tennessee Education Association (TEA) believes that continuous, high quality, meaningful professional development is required for education professionals to achieve and maintain the highest standards of student learning and professional practice. Offering professional development to help educators improve their skills, competencies and student learning is a goal of the Instructional Advocacy Division of TEA. The sessions listed are delivered by our Coordinators who are experienced and licensed teachers who travel to the work site of the educators. Most of the sessions are usually three hours in length. TEA works flexibly with individual groups of educators to help them succeed in reaching their goals. Follow-up sessions are often provided. Our Coordinators can also assist educators to discern what professional development best fits the needs identified in district or school-level improvement plans. For requests please contact the local association president, UniServ Coordinator, or TEA’s Instructional Advocacy Department directly by calling 615.242.8392 or 800.342.8367.
