Oradea International Theater Festival (FITO) is a large-scale cultural event, which aims to offer a space dedicated to theatrical arts, through which to stimulate cultural consumption, support and promote local dramatic creations, Romanian and foreign theatrical productions, as well as create opportunities for Romanian and foreign artists to share experiences of good practices, innovative ideas and to initiate national and international partnerships as diverse as possible.
This concept was launched in 2013 by the Queen Marie Theater in partnership with the Oradea International Theater Festival Cultural Foundation and gathers under its umbrella the Short Theater Festival (FTS), which has a competitive nature, the section Great Shows - Invited and Independent Shows - Fringe Section. The Short Theater Festival is one of the most important sections of the Oradea International Theater Festival and continues a tradition started at the Oradea Theater in 1976. FTS has now reached its 26th edition, being the only festival dedicated to the play in a single act from Romania.
FITO 2023
The FITO 2023 edition will take place on 4 – 11 June and will include performances from different registers, which will address all categories of the public. For the performances in the COMPETITION section of the festival, the selection will be made by a team appointed by the management of the Queen Marie Theatre.
The shows that will participate in the 26th edition of the Short Theater Festival - the COMPETITION section of FITO, will be selected both from the nearly 100 productions already registered, as well as from the most recent shows from the last season.
Among the theaters that have already responded to the Regina Maria Theater’s open call, there are both institutional theaters and organizations from the independent theater area.
FESTIVAL ADVERTISEMENT
Media partnerships with TVR 2/Cultural, Radio Romania Cultural, with local radio and television stations (MagicFM, Digi24 Oradea), with cultural booklets and leisure guides (Observator Cultural, Revista Teatrul Azi, Revista Tribuna, Scena. ro, Zile și Nopți, Teatral.ro, Culturaladuba.ro).
Partnerships with active bloggers in the region – launched in 2012, this kind of activity has proven to be a great success, especially reaching the area of the young audience.
5 press conferences, 5 radio - TV reports, 1,000 posters, 10,000 flyers, 500 booklets, 10 banners and 20 street signs, audio and video spots broadcast through media partners, on the websites www.fitoradea.ro and www. teatrulreginamaria.ro, but also on the Social Media accounts of the International Theater Festival and the Queen Marie Theater (Facebook – over 19,000 followers, Instagram – over 2,000 followers, Google, YouTube, TikTok, LinkedIn, Pinterest).

Sponsors are divided into four main categories, depending on the way they choose to support FITO:
FINANCIAL SPONSORS - have at their disposal the sponsorship packages that are adapted according to the promotion that each of the sponsors wants.
IN-KIND SPONSORS - contribute with a product or a service (offering a venue, giving an award for one of the theaters selected from the winners of the Short Theater Festival - contest, accommodation for the guests, food etc.).
DIGITAL SPONSORS - provide digital support such as an app, a projection show, or anything digital related that would bring value to FITO.
MEDIA/PROMOTIONAL SPONSORS - securing media coverage for FITO, guaranteeing a certain level of exposure on specific channels and publications.
