HOUSE ROCKENFELLER Lake Constance , Switzerland Located on the shores of Lake Constance, on the Swiss side, this home was created for a young race car driver and his wife. The home was design with the idea of living on the infinite plane between a virtual and actual lake. This was accomplished by the using of travertine flooring inside and out, and a large mirrored wall on the opposite side of the lake that relflects the image of the house and lake beyond it. The open floor plan and slim mullioned sliding glass doors create the perfect atmosphere for outdoor living and social gathers.

Technically, the architecture of the hotel is executed in a very precise fashion. All areas of the building are carefully detailed to the most stringent of Swiss building codes and Minergie standards. The facade utilizes two layers of glass, interstitial sunshading and interior curtains and blinds to allow the building to be finely tuned to any daylighting and/or passive heating & cooling situations.

One of the most important features of the hotel is its conference and event center. These elements were carefully considered for appropriate adjacencies and ease of use. At 1,250 m2, the conference and event spaces were also designed for maximum flexibility. The main bannquet rooms can be combined into a larger conference space. There are rooms for small groups and large. The main event space is located on the second floor and has vehicle access via a specialized exterior elevator. The event space also has a separate entry area for bus-drop off. The conference area also has direct access to the exterior garden area, where full grown trees will be planted in an intensive green roof setup.

CLOUD NO. 7 Stuttgart, Germany When famous car designer Sergio Scaglietti was designing his legendary racing cars in the 1950s and 60s, he coined a phrase that also applies to architecture – an approach that we have adopted as our basic philosophy at our design studio in Los Angeles: It’s not only about form and function, but also the passion that it creates. Cloud No 7 is a project whose design was developed with passion, whose shape was drawn with the heart and soul of our designers and architects, with functionality meeting the highest standards – representing the state of the art in technology in building services and sustainability.
