Presented below is the new handphone rule, according to our students’ handbook Master, Mr. Singh on XMOOGLE (edited). The school allows students to bring mobile phones to school for the sole purpose of facilitating communication with their parents. Students may bring mobile phones to school subject to the following requirements:-
All mobile phones must be in silent mode or switched off when students are in school. Within the school premises, mobile phones may only be used in the canteen before 0720hrs, during recess, lunch and after curriculum time. Students are not allowed to take out or use their mobile phones except in the canteen. Students must take full responsibility for the safety of their mobile phones. The school will not be held responsible for the loss of mobile phones. Use of mobile phones outside curriculum time must not disrupt any programme or activity being conducted. Being found to be in possession of mobile phones during tests and exams will be treated as an attempt to cheat. Students found contravening these regulations will have their mobile phones and SIM cards confiscated. They will also be subjected to demerit points.
What do you think about the newly implemented handphone rule? ‌ (All comment s have been edited/rephrased; privacy of identity respected as much as possible) Student, Sec1 I think that this rule is very fair and I do not really have many comments since I do not own a handphone and this does neither benefit nor harm me. If I had a handphone and the teacher confiscates it because I flout the rule, I think that I will not blame the teacher since I will only have myself to blame. Student, Sec2 This new rule makes no difference to the students’ school life. As previously, students are already using handphones in school sneakily and the new rule only justifies our actions. However, considering the benefits of the students, this new rule is obviously welcomed. I think that this punishment is fine since that the rule has already stated clearly and we have no reason in us. We can only blame our bad luck for having the teacher notice.

Student, Sec 3 I think the new rule is good, it allows us to contact people more easily; it also caused fewer problems in school and minimize misunderstandings.
Student, Sec 4 I am pleased with the introduction of this new rule. It allows us with extra means of communication. I think that we have to thank the SLB for having this privilege. I hope that my fellow students do not abuse this. I find the penalty not entirely effective and offenders should be given a second chance. A better alternative would be extra homework or projects, this will discourage offenders. Mr. Singh, Discipline Master I think that the new rule is extremely appropriate! Xinmin’s Alumni I think that the rule is ok. It creates better convenience for the students. I don’t think this is considered a freedom but it does definitely qualify as a breakthrough.
President of SLB, Clement Lim I think that it is fine, the venue and the timing is just right, it protects both the interests of the students and the school managers. This new rule will definitely protect the conducive environment needed for studying. Biology Teacher I think that the students still flout laws and have no regard for rules. Students demand an inch when given a yard. I find that this is a lack of responsibility. Although I accept this rule, I do not quite like what I see as a result of this rule. As the saying “With power comes great responsibility”. I hope the students will be more responsible when it comes to following rules.
Chemistry teacher I think that this rule is long overdue; other schools are already allowing handphones. We need to educate and trust the students. All in all, we cannot expect students to follow a No-Handphone rule in such a technology advanced age, it is simply too unrealistic. I think that confiscation is a good punishment.
Humanities teacher I have mixed feelings when I talk about this newly implemented rule. I support this as it’s a new technology. When used in a correct manner, it would be productive in many ways. I am worried in 4 ways, firstly, handphones are expensive and may encourage increased crime rate. Secondly, I’m afraid of an abuse. Thirdly, it may disrupt the study environment necessary. Fourthly, unhealthy competition may occur, students constantly striving for the best and newest model.

As we walked around the school, we saw that there were many people using their use their handphones anywhere in the school after school ends. We would like to clarify this misconception (after consultation from Mr. Singh) to the fact that handphones can only be used in canteens without the risk of their phones being confiscated. Summarising, this new rule is welcomed by many students, some see it as a breakthrough and the school will continue to be more “open” in many other areas. As an advice to the students of Xinmin Secondary school, please practice self-restraint and abide by the rules in order to be truly responsible students. Congratulations to all students on the new rule that should benefit them. :D

At 2100 C E, in a virtual reality game… It actually could happen in the future… Yu Wo, an author, and Choi Hong Chong, an illustrator, made a manga based on those words. That manga quickly became a favourite for many, with its unique characters and funny storyline. That manga is known as: ½ Prince ½ Prince is about a 19-year-old girl, Feng Lan who was introduced to newest popular virtual reality game at that time, Second Life. Determined to prove to her brother that she could beat him in gaming without using the ‘female benefits’ of a game, she ended up logging in earlier than her anybody else in the game and was given her wish to be a male warrior, which would normally be impossible. Thus, she begins her journey as an elvish warrior named Prince who is too good-looking to be ignored by any the female players. What I liked most about this manga was the thought of having a proper virtual reality game. The author explores the possibility of what could happen in a virtual reality game. Another thing that I liked was the unique characters. From Feng Lan to Kenshin, each of them have funny little quirks that make the whole series enjoyable. Funny scenes and love triangles can sometimes make you laugh until you want to cry. This humorous series will definitely brighten up your day! Graphics Plot Humour Character Overall

Anime Lovers, you’re in luck today. The “well-known” Anime-Freak is introducing you this anime. In case you have never heard of this anime which totals up to 26 episodes, its name is OURAN HIGH SCHOOL HOST CLUB. In short, it is known as Ouran Host Club to many.
What? Host Club? Our heroine, Haruhi Fujioka, who’s being forced to act as a male host for breaking a vase valued ¥8,000,000
Tamaki Suoh, the president of the club, and “Prince” type who is considered the most attractive of all hosts.
Kyouya Ootori, the vice president and the “Cool” type. He is known to the club as the low-blooddemon, shadow king, and “Mother”.

Morinozuka Takashi, the “strong-and-silent” type. The Morinozukas have served the Haninozukas for a long time until a marriage two generations ago, but he still remains faithful to Honey.
Trust me; this anime is a must-watch! If one fine day you find yourself having too much time and nothing to do just like the wealthy students of the Academy, simply watch this anime. You’ll definitely come to love it in no time

Heaven or Hell? If you’re a romance otaku, a hopeless fan girl, this manga is made for you! This romantic, school life, comedy written by Mayu Sakai, is named Rockin’ Heaven in English, and 天堂 ★地狱 in Chinese. It tells the story of Sawa Konishi, our heroine who enrolled into Amabane High School only because she felt that the uniform fit her perfectly, without realizing that it had been an all-boys school all the way until that year. She is enrolled into class 1-G, what others know as the “garbage class”, and she meets Akira Nagashima, an aspiring manga artist, and Ran Matsuyuki, who kisses her forehead on impulse, on the first day of her enrollment. Sawa’s life in the academy was not as smooth-flowing as expected, and she was initially bullied by the guy classmates. Her shoes were thrown into the water, and she was forced to sew all the nametags onto the guy’s T-shirts if she wanted them to join in the interclass games. But eventually it blew over, and she got the respect, and love from some guys, she deserved. Have I aroused your interest? I sincerely hope so. Titbit: History of thumb drives It is very common to see people using thumb drives when it comes to saving their work. But has anyone ever wondered when the first thumb drives were released? First of all, the thumb drive, also known as flash drive, is first released commercially in December 15, year 2000, by companies Trek Technology and IBM, and it had a storage capacity of 8 MB. Following the release of the first thumb drive is the release of Compact Flash (CF) card with a USB connection, a companion card reader and USB cable. In year 2004, Trek Technology fought several lawsuits against other manufacturers and distributors to assert its patent rights to the USB flash drive. A court in Singapore ordered competitors to cease selling similar product, but a court in the United Kingdom revoked one of Trek's patents in that country. CHIPMUNKS 2 THE SQUEAKQUEL Good news, fans of the chipmunks! Alvin and The Chipmunks 2: The Squeakquel, is finally out in the cinemas! Alvin is Alvin, so, he sings, and he causes trouble. When Jason Lee, playing as David Seville, tried to persuade Alvin to ‘take it easy’, Alvin jumped onto a scaffolding, causing it to fall and smack David in the head. The Chipmunks were originally left under the care of Aunt Jackie, played by Kathryn Joosten, but Aunt Jackie fell off the stairs and was, like David, hospitalized. So, they ended up in the hands of Zachery Levi, portraying Toby, Aunt Jackie’s nephew. Their whacky life begins as they are being sent to attend high school, and they not only meet Ian Hawke AGAIN, but also, the Chipettes. Well, some said that this movie is lacking in the plot, but, really, when watching such movies, just use your common sense and go with the flow. But, all in all, I do think that the movie was pretty cute, and the music is AWESOME. Everybody who watches this movie will get a kick out of what happened to Ian Hawke in the end. Have you heard the latest row that making buzz across? Nope, not “Brangelina�! Its Google leaving China. Google has threatened to leave China after a series off hacking to Gmail. Rumors have circulated that the china government might have hacked Google over it censorship, human rights. Google is scared that their customers may not use Gmail anymore in case for privacy issues and in case they get hacked. But Google may be leaving China as its plan to be the internet giant there have turned into dust. They only hold about 30% of the shares there as Baidu is still dominant. Google also alleges that it is quitting China over their censorship over internet freedom. This may be one of the reasons, why Google is quitting china. But that’s not the main reason. The main reason is they have turned sour at the fact they are not the internet giant in China. The internet censorship also took a toll on Google as they had to bow to the rules set by the Chinese government. Google stayed in China in hopes, that it could change China and be the internet giant. Maybe Google thinks if it leaves China the losses are not that big as it is only 2% compared to what they have been earning in the worldwide. But if Google really leaves China there is no hope in internet freedom in there it will just keep them more isolated. A lot of people have applauded Google move in threatening China. Ultimately, I think Google not really going to leave China. They are just waiting for the China government to offer a solution to them and for the America president to put more pressure on them to do so.

Did you know that there is an age limit for facebook users? FYI, the age limit is … 13yo. Not only does Facebook aid you in keeping up with your friends, keeping track of your friends but Facebook also offers a wide variety of activities for you. Such as wall posts, games, photos, notes and many other cool apps! There are practically countless apps available, suitable for each and every individual. Want to find friends? This is not a problem, just a few clicks away. Also, Facebook is also a good place for people to gather and get into groups. An advice for people, who are interested in/using Facebook, be careful not to be a fan of everything your friends are. You may have joined out of rashness and your profile-info page becomes messy with all the names of you the things/people/quote you agree with. Also, if you are bored, you can do so many things, including playing games like Farmville, Mouse Hunt and more. Also, you can post random notes on the notes page and tag friends!
Ever wondered why sometimes when you plug in your thumb drive the whole com lags like crazy. You can’t open the files in the thumb drive. Don’t you feel frustrated? Here’s a little trick for you. 1: When you download some big files or other unimportant files finished and you have installed them on the computer, you may consider deleting them away. They can drastically help the computer to be not so laggy. 2: Delete the programs, files and games that are not needed anymore. 3: Always keep a lot of disk space on your c:\ or D:\ the problem lie in not having enough disk space. 4: A solution you may consider downloading C-cleaner that can help clear your browsing history, cookies on the internet, temporary files and the files in the recycle bin forever. 5: If all the above does not work, I suggest it is high time to change computer.

5 steps to a house 1. Choose the polygon—Cube as shown below.
2. Create a new material and under texture, choose the surface to be tiles. Also, made it bump, specular and alpha.
3. Apply the material to the cube.
4. Create another cube and create another new material, made the material transparent and specular.

Words in broken pieces 1. Create a new file and follow the properties shown in the figure below
2. After click the key T, the figure shown below will appear and follow the properties
3. Enter text in the box, adjust the text location, click "OK" button. Results are shown in Figure.
4. Click the menu Layer / Type / Render Layer will be converted into ordinary text layer. At this point you can see the letter "T" text which next to the layer disappeared. 5. Click on the menu Filter / Noise / Add Noise, Add Noise, set Amount to 150, distributed as evenly distributed Uniform, select the Monochrome option and Click "OK" button. Obtain the following diagram results. 18
6. Click on the menu Filter / Pixelate / Crystallize. Set the Cell Size to 10, and click "OK" button. Obtain the following diagram results.
7. Click on the menu, Filter / Stylize / Glowing Edges. Set the edge width to 1, the edge brightness 20, Smoothness 1, click on "ok "button. Results are shown in Figure.
8. Press Ctrl + A keys to select all, press Ctrl + C key to copy the selected area, press Ctrl + D key to cancel it. 9. Click the Channel, create a new Alpha 1, double-click the Alpha 1, in the channel options, set the Color Indicates to Masked Areas, Color is black, click on "ok" button.
10. Click the menu, Image / Adjustment / Invert, the window is displayed as white now.

11. Press Ctrl + V keys to just copy paste the image into the Alpha 1 in the following figure, and then press Ctrl + D key to cancel the constituency.
12. Press Ctrl key, click on Alpha 1. Right-click on Alpha 1, select delete, deletes the Alpha 1 channel. The figure will show as below.
13. Click Layers panel to determine the "IT" layer for the current layer, press Delete key to clear the constituency. 14. Right-click the "IT" layer, select the "effect" of Drop Shadow, Mode to Soft Light, Opacity to 75%, Angle to 120, Distance to 5, spread for the 5, size to 0, and click "ok" button.

How to create a STEEL CHAIR: SIMPLE CHAIR: (FOR ELEMENTARY READERS) 1. 2. 3. 4.
Open Cinema 4D. Start your modeling of the chair by creating Cylinder Primitives for the chair legs. (Click the blue cubelike icon and select the cylinder in the GUI selection menu) Set cylinder radius 10m. (or any you favor just as long as it looks normal) 5. Copy this cylinder and reproduce it 250m away by X-axis. (or use symmetry) How to use Symmetry? a. Click on the MODELING icon and click Symmetry. b. Select the cylinder. c. Under Objects List at the right side of your screen, move cylinder under symmetry. (cylinder child of symmetry) d. Use the move tool to adjust the positions of the original cylinder such that the 2 cylinders are 250m apart. (about that) 6. Copy and Paste another two cylinders 250m away from the original cylinders by Z-axis. 7. Create a Cube Primitive for the supporting board. (dimensions 250 20 250) 8. Adjust the position of the cube such that it sits enclosed by the four cylinders, and shift it (height) near the rim of the cylinders. 9. Copy that cube and paste it again. 10. Rotate it 90 degrees Pitch. 11. Move it to position X125 Y207 Z273 12. Rotate it 15 degrees Pitch, and adjust the cube to the end of the supporting board accordingly.

13. Now, things start to get confusing as number of objects are increasing in the objects inventory. Name your objects accordingly, eg. Supporting board, leaning board, chair legs, etc. You should always name your objects in future for easy identification when you want to select/edit them from the objects inventory. 14. Voila! You have your first chair – the “structure”. 15. Lastly, find a wood material on the internet (use Google and your brains) and apply it to a new material. Use the wood material on the chair and its parts. How to apply custom materials using online resources? a. Find a custom picture on the net that suits the texture desired. b. Save that picture on the desktop. c. Go to C4d and Select File, New material under the Materials inventory. d. Double Click the material icon that has showed up to open Mat editor. e. Under Color (ticked), find “texture”, and click the arrow () to choose texture f. Select load image, and choose the picture file under desktop. g. Drag your material into the object that you want to apply it on. 16. If you want the chair’s supporting back to be unique, you can adjust the points of the primitive. 17. Select the primitive, switch to points selection and move the corner points two at a time. 18. Render it. 19. Don’t limit your creativity!
