SKY PARK
Sky Park LAKE UNION A real estate competition between University of Alberta, University of British Columbia and University of Washington sponsored by Paul Allen’s Vulcan Properties at Lake Union in Seattle Washington. The brief was to design for a mixedused high density pedestrian oriented hub on the north shores of Lake Union. The neighbourhood is undergoing revitalization and Sky Park looks to be the pivotal edifice that enhances the liveability and socialization of the emerging neighbourhood. Focused on providing uninhibited views and access to the elements Skypark and its complimenting buildings spread out over three sites look to celebrate the Pacific Northwest’s rugged beauty. Finding inspiration from the nearby marinas, forms and typologies reflect the rich industruial and sporting history in the region.
