Product Overview The genset or the engine-generator set, also termed simply as ‘generator set’, usually consists of an engine coupled to an alternator to produce electricity. ➢

The size of the genset is inversely related to the speed of the engine, measured in revolutions/minute (rpm). Large generator sets come with engines of lower and medium rpm and small gensets come with engines of high rpm.

The speed of the engine used in gensets ranges between 100 rpm and 3600 rpm. The medium speed gensets offer a stable power supply and are used in power plants to provide power during emergency in case of power failures. They are also used in case of combined Heat & Power (CHP) systems.
