Newsletters can be a great way to market your product or service, and also create credibility and build your organization’s identity among peers, members, employees, or vendors. First, determine the audience of the newsletter. This could be anyone who might benefit from the information it contains, for example, employees or people interested in purchasing a product or requesting your service.

You can compile a mailing list from business reply cards, customer information sheets, business cards collected at trade shows, or membership lists. You might consider purchasing a mailing list from a company. If you explore the Publisher catalog, you will find many publications that match the style of your newsletter. Next, establish how much time and money you can spend on your newsletter. These factors will help determine how frequently you publish the newsletter and its length. It’s recommended that you publish your newsletter at least quarterly so

that it’s considered a consistent source of information. Your customers or employees

Your headline is an important part of the newsletter and should be considered carefully. In a few words, it should accurately represent the

contents of the story and draw readers into the story. Develop the headline before you write the story. This way, the headline will help you keep the story focused. Examples of possible headlines include Prod-

Mr. Roedig Mr. Roedig is our Chorus and Orchestra teacher here at Lady’s Island Middle School. Mr. Roedig has been teaching for nineteen years. Mr. Roedig was born in the Garden State– New Jersey! He was born on March 2nd and loves to play golf, cook and eat! He is looking forward to the Shrimp Festival in the Fall. As far as his new job here at Lady’s Island Mr. Roedig says he’s getting along fabulously with his co-workers. When asked about his students he says they are great and very hard working. His goal this year for his students is to see them grow academically, socially, and

musically! Mr. Roedigs all time favorite book is, The DaVinci Code. His favorite singer presently is Adele. When pressed to find out who his favorite college team is South Carolina or Clemson, Mr. Roedig said neither, he then said his favorite college team is Penn State! Our final question to Mr. Roedig was who inspired him to become a music teacher, Mr. Roedig stated that his 5th grade music teacher, Mr. Henderson inspired him to become the best music teacher! Mr. Vowles Mr. Vowles is the new Social Studies teacher in the down citadel pod at Lady’s Island Middle School. He was born in Hilton, New York. Growing up as a child he played baseball, and he also participated in boxing. He graduated on the campus of Suny Brockport. After he graduated from collage he became a teacher at Hilton High School in New York, and Hope Hall Academy. Mr. Vowles has been teaching for 3 years now. He is not married and

doesn’t have any kids. His favorite movie is Remember The Titans, He has no recent favorite book or song. His inspiration to become a teacher is that he wanted to work with kids.

Mrs. Brown Mrs. Brown graduated with her Bachelor’s degree in biology in 2006 from Mercer’s University. She then received her masters in counseling in 2013 at Georgia Southern University. She became a professional school counselor because she loves working with students and helping them with their path in life. This is her very first time at being a middle school counselor. She has many hobbies, such as traveling, going to the beach, she loves music, and she is a major Beyoncé fan! She enjoys reading, but never really has any spare time. Her favorite book is “oh the places you’ll go!” by Dr.Suess. That’s our new school counselor.
