Tailor-made innovation

The world of animal nutrition is strictly regulated. Animal health and transport and storage needs merge, requiring innovative, practical solutions that respect the product. For over 45 years, the manufacturer of packaging systems Concetti has been working to find the right solution for the flexible packaging needs of pet food, feed, and supplements for animal wellbeing. Recently, the range of bagging machines for the sector, the IGF series, has undergone an interesting restyling that involves the general design, automation, features, and software innovation, also affecting factors such as machinery safety, ergonomics, and ease of use. The aim is to produce a quality bag, in the name of customization.

Pet food: tailor-made innovation and packaging intactness

The highly customized tailor-made solutions, resulting from the close collaboration between Concetti – a true consultant – and the customer, can make the difference. The Umbria-based company has recently supplied an English pet food manufacturer with a customized version of the IPF 40 doublemouth bagging machine, integrating an innovative sealing inspection system with thermographic camera, commonly used in the human food sector. Once closed and sealed, each bag is inspected in line, for few seconds, to check if the seal is perfect, with the aim of preserving the quality of the product for a long time and avoiding food waste, thanks to a completely intact packaging. Concetti has always stood out for highly versatile bagging and palletizing solutions. With a single system consisting of a scale, bagging machine, and palletizer, saving space and money, you can pack and palletize a wide range of bags from 100 grams to 20 kg, with flexible packaging of various sizes and types: coated paper bags, polylaminate stand-up bags, with the most disparate closures (zips, sliders, handles, velcro), equipped with additional freshness-saving devices (resealable). All manageable with a single line: a great advantage for those who pack for third parties or have a variety of recipes and formats.

Feed: reduction of the risk of contamination and extended shelf life Concetti has designed more than 700 feed plants, providing extremely reliable systems and assistance services. Recently the bar has been raised even higher, with new, interesting applications. With the IGF Gemini, for example, you can bag, within the same line, different products such as medicated or non-medicated feed, for ruminants or non-ruminants, considerably reducing the risk of cross contamination between batches, thanks to the presence of two different weighing, dosing, and filling systems that work alternately. In this case too, with a single system that optimizes costs and spaces. A solution that also guarantees compliance with regulations and product care, just like the MAP.

Covid-19, for example, has made the use of modified atmosphere packaging even more necessary, as occurred in the most difficult months of the pandemic, avoiding the deterioration of stored product batches. Concetti has already supplied bagging machines for the packaging of feed in modified atmosphere, allowing to maintain the quality of the product for a long time and extending its shelf life.

Supplements and additives: flexible systems for ‘talking’ bags

A different story is the one for supplements and additives for zootechnical use, today in great demand to support animal wellbeing and performance. Particular, technological products with complex and rich formulations, generally difficult to pack due to the high variability of the specific weight. Concetti, thanks to the experience gained by collaborating with important companies in the sector, provides packaging systems of the IGF series, efficient and flexible, guaranteeing the manufacturer to get the bags to their destination in optimal conditions. The company provides solutions that take into account all needs: from weighing accuracy to safe and efficient palletization, from the reduction and containment of dust in the bagging process, to the integration of advanced labelling, coding, and tracking systems that make the bag ‘talk’.
