Teen Eye’s fifth issue explores the inflation of the now hazy word "Icon" and it's power (or lack thereof) in 2016. A broad group of teen essayists, artists, illustrators, and poets examine how social media has changed its' definition, who has the influence to assign the title, and if anyone should still try to become one. The 166 page long publication features interviews with Edward Mapplethorpe, Louie Johnson, and punk band Priests, poems on #blacklivesmatter, fashion week coverage, analyses of the rocky political and fashion industries, and behind the scenes look at the nights of models including Taylor Hill, Sara Sampaio, Liya Kebede, Sasha Luss, and more. It has been completely produced by a group of five female teenagers.
