world of wonderment where chic meets curiosity is available on a new website. Chic-osity is an online emporium of stylish vintage furniture, home accessories, gifts and jewellery based in the North East. The company offers four services: Shop Chic-osity, Hire Chic-osity, Chic Me and Dig Chic-osity. At the site you will stumble across sought after treasures ranging from vintage jewellery to antique dressing tables, which are also available on loan through hire chic-osity, a quirky service that enables users to create beautiful themed weddings or parties. Chic Me is a renovation service that transforms old well-made pieces of furniture into something beautiful and practical for the modern home whilst the folks at Dig Chic-osity will redesign your garden and create a magical Eden full of interesting treasures. The website is the brainchild of Georgie ScottBatey, from Morpeth, who used her experience living in Italy for five years to gain creative inspiration. “My parents love antiques and used to take me to antique fairs when I was a lot younger,” she said. “We were always looking for the unusual and wonderful.” Georgie came up with the idea for Chic-osity on the plane back from Venice to Newcastle. She said: “I’d have a such a fantastic trip trawling the antique markets out there, looking at the stunning ornate architecture that decorates the streets and admiring the artistic shop displays in Venice that I realised I wanted to do something creative myself. “Combining my loves for the unusual, ornate and vintage with beautiful style, Chic-osity was born. “There’s some Italian flair captured in the small collection we have from there and also some treasures from home that have been given a new lease of life. “What I have hopefully created is an online emporium where chic meets curiosity and treasures can be found.” n Visit www.chic-osity.co.uk for more details.
