Purpose An effective Women’s Ministry accomplishes much in the 21st Century Church because it enhances fellowship among the saints and fosters a greater relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. We do Women’s Ministry out of love for the God and our fellow humans being.

The Women’s Ministry of Mount Carmel seeks to:

EQUIP and enrich the lives of women and their families through Christ ENABLE a woman to discover her God-given gifts for ministry, to search out the needs in her church and community, and match those needs with her gift of service. LEAD women to accept Christ as Lord, to become women of deep prayer, and to become women who study the Bible and base their entire lives on the Word of God. ENCOURAGE women of this church to bring unchurched and non-Christian women to a personal relationship with Christ and His church, disciple them, equip them to become disciples. PROMOTE ministry that will equip women to reach out and meet the unique needs of other women in the name of Christ. PROVIDE and serve Bible-based spiritual growth and discipleship resources, leadership training, and a structure of networking that will strengthen, enrich, and equip women to be more effective in service through ministries of the church. Scripture Support: Titus 2: 3-5; Psalms 145: 4; Proverbs 31: 10-31, Ephesians 4:11-16

Theme Song Pass It On It only takes a spark to get a fire going, And soon all those around can warm up in its glowing; That's how it is with God's Love, Once you've experienced it, You spread the love to everyone You want to pass it on. What a wondrous time is spring, When all the tress are budding The birds begin to sing, the flowers start their blooming; That's how it is with God's love, Once you've experienced it. You want to sing, it's fresh like spring, You want to pass it on. I wish for you my friend This happiness that I've found; You can depend on God It matters not where you're bound, I'll shout it from the mountain top - PRAISE GOD! I want the world to know The Lord of love has come to me I want to pass it on. I'll shout it from the mountain top - PRAISE GOD! I want the world to know The Lord of love has come to me I want to pass it on.

Minister Adams shares the joys of her life with her husband, Deacon Larry Adams, and their three sons, Blake (age 11), Philip (age 6) and Kurt (age 2). Outside of the home, she is employed by the University of Florida as an associate professor of mathematics education and the Director of Graduate Studies for the College of Education. Minister Adams has many friends and family members, especially since she is the youngest of eight children to Pickens and Tennie Ruth Lott of Saluda, SC. However, she is most happy to be a member of God’s family and to be co-heir with Jesus Christ.

Minister Veronica Alexander Minister Veronica Alexander is an associate minister at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. She was licensed under the leadership of Dr. Thomas A. Wright, PastorEmeritus. She is very active in many ministries of the church including the Evangelism Council where she serves as a preacher, teacher, missionary, and counselor. She is the Director of Human Resources for the Florida Foundation and works diligently to create a place of harmony for the employees and applicants for this institution. More importantly, she carries her light with her in her home. She is married to Deacon Laurence Alexander and has three sons, Brandon, David and Tyler. She also has welcomed into her home many friends and family members who partake of the hospitality that this loving, kind, compassionate and wise woman of God provides. A testament of this is the fact that Minister Alexander is a native of New Orleans and during this time when many of her family members have been displaced, including her parents, Edward and Calline Wicker, she has still reached out to help others impacted by this tragedy. If one would ask Minister Alexander what she wants most in life, she would probably say that more than anything she wants her life to be pleasing to the Lord. Her life, her service, her praise, her desire is to please the Lord.

It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5It is not rude, it is not selfseeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. 8Love never fails.

Special Thanks Praise God from whom all blessings flow. The Lord is doing “a new thing” in the fellowship of the women of Mt Carmel and we are blessed to be the handmaidens of the Lord. As we began our coming together during the past three month to plan our eighth (8th) Annual Women’s Seminar/Day we have been challenged and commissioned to take our commitment and love for God and each other to a new level. We have been inspired, and it has been contagious, as we have witnessed your enthusiasm, excitement, commitment, and bonding together in fellowship as you have given great attention to every committee and individual assignment. Thank you my sisters and to God we give the Glory! We thank God for Pastor Latimore’s gracious encouragement, validation, challenge, and charge to the “Women of the Mighty Mt Carmel. From the pulpit, through e-mail messages, and meeting with and listening to us, you showed us your personal interest and support. Yes, in your own special way, you challenged the women to get involved because each woman is important to the life and ministry of this church. Our 2007 conference theme is: “Christian Women Experiencing and Sharing God’s Love”. St Augustine said that, “He who is filled with love is filled with God”. It is our sincere hope that as each Christian woman, teen and young adult, and women from every walk of life will experience a new level of God’s love and our sisterly affection. “And they will know we are Christians by our love.” We extend a “Special Thanks” to each one of the Seminar and Women’s Day speakers, visiting friends, program participants and all for helping the women of Mt. Carmel to realize and achieve the goals that God has laid before us. A very special “Honey-do” thanks to our Bothers for your love and support. We want you to know that we would not be able to prosper in this work with out your sacrificial love and sharing with us. May the God of all blessings, bless you abundantly. Sisters it is our heartfelt desire, and according to the word written by the Apostle Paul in Philippians 1: 9-11 (NIV), “I (we) pray that your love will overflow more and more, and that you will keep on growing in knowledge and understanding. 10 For I want you to understand what really matters, so that you may live pure and blameless lives until the day of Christ’s return. 11 May you always be filled with the fruit of your salvation—the righteous character produced in your life by Jesus Christ[a]—for this will bring much glory and praise to God.
