Temple Splash Pads Open for Summer

Temperatures are rising and Temple Parks and Leisure Services wants to help you cool off at the Temple Splash Pads! All three splash pad locations will open weekends only starting Saturday, May 5 and daily starting May 31.

Three great splash pads to explore in Temple: • Ferguson Park Splash Pad 1203 E. Adams • Miller Park Splash Pad 1919 N. 1st Street • West Temple Park Splash Pad 121 S. Montpark Road “The splash pads in Temple are very popular. We estimate over 15,000 children will visit the splash pads this summer,” said Parks and Leisure Services Director, Ken Cicora. “The first one we opened was at Ferguson Park and because of that success, in the 2007 Parks Bond election we put the Miller and West Temple Park splash pads on the ballot and they were overwhelmingly approved by the voters. Splash pads offer a free and fun activity for the community and we are happy to offer three unique splash pads across Temple.” The splash pads are operational from 8 a.m. – 8 p.m. throughout the summer. Weather permitting, they will stay open through early fall. For more information on the splash pads, please visit www.TempleParks.com or call 254.298.5690.

Stop in at the Temple Visitor Center for a variety of Temple souvenirs, phonebooks, Temple/Bell County maps, and over 100 brochures from popular Texas travel destinations and attractions! The center is located at 120 W. Central Avenue in Historic Downtown Temple. Battle of Temple Junction Reenactment The 4th Annual Battle of Temple Junction Reenactment, sponsored by the Major Robert M. White Camp #1250, Sons of Confederate Veterans, will be held beginning Friday, May 18, with an Education Day for area students. Last year, nearly 600 kids attended the Education Day, where they got a hands on opportunity to experience the War Between the States. Reenactment will continue on Saturday, May 19, and Sunday, May 20, with a full scale reenactment battle each afternoon at 2pm. In addition to the reenactments, attendees will enjoy period sutlers and other vendors. 2405 Industrial Blvd, Temple, Texas
