When I started as a singer, I know that I would have loved this opportunity and as a Patron of Tenebrae, I truly advocate both the performing and the outreach work that our Associate Artists experience, through Tenebrae and Nigel. - Dame Sarah Connolly
A flagship programme to help develop the most talented young-professional choral singers in the UK. Under the leadership of the Tenebrae’s Artistic Director, Nigel Short, the Associate Artists scheme is unique amongst professional choirs as it meets the need for young talent to develop exceptional pedagogic and performance skills in order to sustain a career as a professional singer. In doing so, the scheme provides selected singers with invaluable experience through active engagement with Tenebrae’s national and international performance and recording schedule throughout the concert season. Associates also receive training in music pedagogy and go on to put this into practice through a series of education and community partnerships.
“
A fantastic opportunity to develop the skills required to sustain a portfolio career as a choral singer. As well as being immersed in the choir’s active concert and recording programme, I find the pedagogy training and youth choir partnerships particularly rewarding. - Bethany Partridge (Tenebrae Associate Artist)

It is incredibly inspiring for us to be in partnership with Tenebrae so that the members of our choir, many of whom are the aspiring singers of the future, can have the unique experience to work alongside and perform with professional singers and directors of this calibre. - Rachel Staunton (Director, London Youth Choir)
