COMPANY OVERVIEW Elise Durbecq and Gillian Tozer founded TRUSS in 2013 with sustainability in mind. All of their products are created through collaborations with small business owners and weavers in Oaxaca, Mexico. It is important to work directly with these artisans and communities in order to grow the local trade and preserve their rare and unique skills. TRUSS is a proud supporter of Fondo Guadalupe Musalem, which is an organization that works to educate and empower women. Their shared mission is to ensure high school education to indigenous girls who show great academic desire and promise. TRUSS realizes that positive change within families and communities starts when women are educated - so through their partnership with FGM, TRUSS helps maintain Oaxaca’s economic and cultural dignity.

When developing this concept we wanted to reverse the collection of waste that is created when window and in store displays are deconstructed.
Each handbag will be hand created and have it’s own unique story and design to it, expanding the customer’s connection with Barney’s.
