AMY ADAMS STRUNK Owner and Co-Chairman, Board of Directors
AMY ADAMS STRUNK assumed the role of controlling owner of the team in March 2015. She also serves as the co-chairman of the franchise’s Board of Directors. In her time as controlling owner Strunk has transformed the franchise through her vision, commitment and decisions that have set the team on an ascending trajectory. She hired Jon Robinson as General Manager and Mike Vrabel as head coach, while also installing Steve Underwood to the position of President and CEO. Additionally, she has annually committed significant resources to upgrade Nissan Stadium and the team’s practice facility, Saint Thomas Sports Park. Strunk also continues to grow the administrative staff for the franchise with significant additions across different departments. All those changes translated to success on the field as the Titans went from a three-win team in 2015, to 9-7 records in the past three campaigns and a playoff win at Kansas City in 2017. The playoff victory was the first for the franchise since 2003, and the three consecutive winning seasons are first in the “Titans” era (1999-present). In the spring of 2018, she collaborated with Nashville city officials to secure the 2019 NFL Draft for downtown Nashville. By any measure, the 2019 6
NFL Draft was the most successful in NFL history, drawing a record 600,000 fans to downtown Nashville over the three-day event and setting television ratings records. The Draft resulted in $224 million in economic impact and $133 million in direct spending for the Tennessee economy, which were both NFL high-water marks. In June, Strunk was honored by the Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame as the “Tennessean of the Year,” for her role in bringing the NFL Draft to Nashville and her work to transform the franchise to a consistent winner. One of the daughters of Titans franchise founder K.S. “Bud” Adams, Jr., Strunk was raised on football and is proud of her father’s role in founding the American Football League as well as the decades of leadership he provided not only to the Titans franchise, but also to the National Football League. Her goal is to build upon that legacy and establish the Titans as one of the league’s elite franchises. An independent businesswoman for more than 30 years, Strunk is the owner and president of both Kenada Farms and the Little River Oil and Gas Company. She has been significantly involved in the family’s farming and ranching businesses, including serving as the vice president of Bud Adams

Ranches, Inc. These ventures provided her valuable knowledge about customer service as well as the opportunity to manage a diverse range of employees and business operations, and these experiences have shaped her management style. “I believe in hiring good people and letting them do their jobs,” said Strunk. “Everything should revolve around what’s best for the Titans and not around the owner. While I talk frequently with the leaders of the Titans as I do with all of our family’s companies, the people in our football operations need the control and latitude necessary to create an exciting and competitive team. “Our business staff needs the same freedom in order for our organization to reach its full potential and to continue to create a first-class fan experience at Nissan Stadium. Decisions will always be made based on what is the best for the team to reach our goals of becoming one of the elite franchises of the NFL and enriching the communities of Nashville and middle Tennessee. “Nashville is one of the most dynamic and rapidly growing cities in the nation with a very promising future,” said Strunk. “We are proud to be a part of Nashville and Middle Tennessee, and we want the Titans to be a leader in providing opportunities for people and businesses in the city and the region to achieve their dreams.” Engaged in the process of improving all aspects of the franchise, Strunk has the best interest of the football team and the fans on her mind as she makes her decisions. As evidence of that engagement, the Titans have become one of the best home teams in the NFL, posting a 16-4 home mark in the last 20 games leading into the 2019 season. In 2016, Strunk was appointed to the NFL’s Hall of Fame Committee. Her appointment continues a family legacy, as her father was a longtime member of the committee. Additionally, in 2017, Strunk was named to the Board of Trustees for the Pro Football Hall of Fame. In 2018, she added an appointment to the NFL’s Super Bowl and Major Event Advisory Committee. A graduate of the University of Texas with a degree in history, Strunk is an avid horse enthusiast whose other interests include farming, ranching, tennis and a variety of other outdoor activities. She also served as a volunteer coach of both the boys and girls varsity tennis teams at her daughter’s high school. Never one to turn down a challenge, during the 2017 offseason, Strunk accepted an invitation to skydive with members of the Army’s Golden Knights to kick off draft week. Strunk is married to her husband Bill. She has three children — Tracy, Tommy, and Blanche, who are all avid sports fans and outdoor enthusiasts. TENNESSEE TITANS YEARBOOK 2019

STEVE UNDERWOOD President and CEO
STEVE UNDERWOOD returned to the Titans on March 20, 2015 to serve as the team’s interim President and CEO, and had the interim tag removed in January of 2016. He now leads the franchise as the President and CEO. Underwood has four decades of experience in a number of roles with the franchise, including that of Senior Executive Vice President/ General Counsel/COO at the time of his initial retirement in 2011. Prior to his initial retirement, Underwood assumed the position of Senior Executive Vice President, General Counsel in August of 2006 and moved from Houston to Nashville. He oversaw the organization in Nashville and reported directly to the team owner, K.S. “Bud” Adams, Jr. Since 8
he joined the franchise in 1991, he has served as General Counsel for the franchise. He also served as General Counsel for KSA Industries, Inc., the private holding company of Titans’ owner K. S. “Bud” Adams, Jr. Underwood was heavily involved in issues related to the franchise’s relocation to Tennessee, including his role as one of the Titans’ principal negotiators with local governments in Nashville, Memphis and Houston. Underwood raised five children, including daughters Christy, Melissa, Providence and Liberty, and son, Dennis, who passed away in 2011. Underwood and his wife, Frances, currently live in Nashville.

JON ROBINSON
Executive Vice President/General Manager JON ROBINSON enters his fourth season as the team’s general manager. He was hired in January of 2016 and was promoted in 2017 to executive vice president/general manager. Robinson’s work in his first three years helped the team go from three wins in the season prior to his arrival to three consecutive 9-7 seasons and a Divisional Round playoff finish following the 2017 campaign. He became the fifth general manager in franchise history to have the team in the playoffs within his first two full seasons. Robinson also is the only general manger during the “Titans” era (1999-present) to oversee three consecutive winning seasons. Robinson turned over 80 percent of the Titans roster in his first three years on the job. At the end of the 2018 campaign, 43 players on the club’s 53-man roster (81.1 percent) were added after Robinson arrived in Tennessee—27 free agents, two players acquired via trade, one waiver pickups and 13 draft picks. An additional nine players he acquired (six free agents, two draft picks and one waiver claim) ended 2018 on injured reserve. In 2019, Robinson added key veterans to bolster the roster, including five-time Pro Bowl OLB Cameron Wake, G Rodger Saffold and WR Adam Humphries. Additionally, he engineered a trade that brought QB Ryan Tannehill to the Titans from Miami. Robinson also was able to keep two key contributors on the roster, re-signing S Kenny Vaccaro and two-time Pro Bowl punter Brett Kern. On draft day, Robinson added Mississippi State DL Jeffery Simmons in the first round and Ole Miss WR A. J. Brown in the second round. Early in the 2018 unrestricted free agent signing period, Robinson targeted a pair of former New England Patriots: CB Malcolm Butler and 10
RB Dion Lewis. During the 2018 NFL Draft, Robinson used trades to move up three times as he selected linebackers Rashaan Evans and Harold Landry. During the 2017 offseason, Robinson used free agency to address needs on defense and special teams. Most notably, he spearheaded deals for CB Logan Ryan (New England), S Johnathan Cyprien (Jacksonville) and special teams Pro Bowler Brynden Trawick (Oakland). In the 2017 NFL Draft, Robinson spent first-round picks on WR Corey Davis (fifth overall) and CB Adoree’ Jackson (18th overall). It marked the first time the franchise had a pair of first-round draft selections since 1987. Overall, the members of the 2017 draft class combined for 76 games played and 42 starts as rookies. In his first year as an NFL general manager, Robinson’s leadership and decision-making helped the Titans triple their win total from the previous season, finishing 9-7 in 2016 after a 3-13 finish in 2015. The six-win improvement tied for the most in franchise history (1967 and 1974) and doubled the previous club benchmark for the most wins in the first year under a new general manager (three by Bum Phillips in 1975). Within the first four months at his post, Robinson pulled the trigger on several key personnel decisions. On March 9, 2016, he made his first major acquisition, swapping fourth-round draft picks with the Philadelphia Eagles in exchange for RB DeMarco Murray. The trade provided major dividends in 2016, as Murray led the AFC and ranked third in the NFL with 1,287 rushing yards. Around the same time, Robinson began to work the free agent market. Center Ben Jones and WR Rishard Matthews highlighted the haul, and both were instrumental in helping to transform the Titans offense into the 11th-

ranked unit in the NFL in 2016. Jones started all 16 games and keyed a rushing attack that ranked third in the league, while Matthews set career highs with 65 receptions (tied for the team lead), a team-high 945 receiving yards and a team-high nine touchdown receptions. The latter number tied for sixth in the NFL and tied for ninth in franchise history. On April 14, 2016, two weeks before the NFL Draft, Robinson and the Titans dealt the first overall pick to the Los Angeles Rams in one of the biggest trades in recent NFL history. The Titans gave up the No. 1 pick and a fourthrounder in order to receive the 15th overall pick, two second-rounders and a third-rounder in 2016, plus the Rams’ first- and third-round picks in 2017. From 1990–2015, there were seven trades involving the No. 1 overall pick, but this was the first since 2004, when the San Diego Chargers selected Eli Manning with the first pick and dealt his rights to the New York Giants. The Titans had their hands at one point or another on 17 selections in the 2016 draft due to five different trades (including one trade in 2015), and in the end, they ended up with a class of 10 players, including four of the top 45 picks. Robinson swung a draft-day trade with the Cleveland Browns to move back up to the eighth slot to choose Michigan State tackle Jack Conklin. All 10 members of Robinson’s first draft class played in at least one game in 2016. They accumulated a total of 110 games played and 38 starts, including 16 starts at right tackle by Conklin. The eighth-overall pick capped his successful rookie campaign by being named first-team All-Pro by Associated Press. Other rookies in 2016 who made significant contributions included second-round RB Derrick Henry, third-round S Kevin Byard and fifth-round WR Tajaé Sharpe. Byard earned first-team All-Pro honors and a Pro Bowl berth in his second season. Robinson arrived in Tennessee with a wide range of experience from working his way up on the personnel side of the NFL. From 2014–2015, he served as director of player personnel for the Buccaneers and oversaw both college and pro departments as the team rebuilt its roster. The 2015 Buccaneers draft class made a significant impact, including four rookie starters: QB Jameis Winston, OT Donovan Smith, G Ali Marpet and LB Kwon Alexander. Prior to joining Tampa Bay, Robinson spent 12 years with the New England Patriots, including his last five years (2009-13) as the director of college scouting. In the five years heading up their college scouting, the Patriots added a number of key components to their roster that won the Super Bowl in 2014, including WR Julian Edelman, DB Devin McCourty, TE Rob Gronkowski, OT Nate Solder and DE Chandler Jones. He joined the Patriots as an area scout in 2002, a role he served for four seasons. Robinson then spent two years (2006-07) as a regional scout, before being promoted to assistant director of college scouting in 2008 and then director of college scouting in 2009. In his time scouting for the Patriots the team won 10 division titles, four conference titles and two Super Bowls (2003, 2004). Robinson played three years at Southeast Missouri State as a defensive lineman after starting his college career at the Air Force Academy. Following his college career as a player, he spent one season (1998) coaching at his alma mater and three years (1999-2001) coaching at Nicholls State. A native of Union City, Tenn., Robinson and his wife, Jaimie, have two daughters, Taylor and Bailey. He and his wife are deeply involved in the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), as the disease affects their oldest daughter, Taylor. In 2018, the Robinsons chaired the JDRF Gala in Nashville which raised over 1.8 million dollars for diabetes research.

MIKE VRABEL Head Coach
MIKE VRABEL was hired as head coach of the Titans on Jan. 20, 2018. He became the 19th head coach in franchise history. In his first season as a head coach, Vrabel guided the Titans to a 9-7 record and to within one game of a playoff berth, all while navigating one of the NFL’s toughest schedules. The Titans played a league-high nine games during the regular season against seven eventual playoff teams, and their four wins against playoff clubs tied for the most in the league. Only New England, the Los Angeles Rams and Carolina had as many. The Titans committed only 82 penalties in 2018. Not only was that number the best in franchise history over a 16-game season, it was the lowest total by an NFL team since 2014. The Titans improved from having the 13th-ranked NFL defense in 2017 to an eighth-overall ranking in 2018 (333.4 yards allowed per game). They finished third in scoring defense at 18.9 points allowed per game, recording their best mark since 2008. The 2018 Titans defense also ranked second in the red zone (44.7 touchdown percentage), 10th on third down (36.6 percent), sixth in passing defense (216.9 yards per game), second in touchdowns allowed (32) and first in fourth-quarter defense (65.9 yards per game). The 2018 Titans offense relied heavily upon a strong running attack. Averaging 126.4 rushing yards per game, the team upgraded from the NFL’s 15th-ranked rushing offense the year before he arrived to the seventhranked rushing attack in 2018. Vrabel ascended quickly to his position as a head coach following a 14year playing career as a linebacker with the Pittsburgh Steelers (1997-2000), New England Patriots (2001-08) and Kansas City Chiefs (2009-10). He spent three years as an assistant coach at Ohio State (2011-13) and four years on the Houston Texans staff (2014-17), including 2017 as the defensive coordinator, before he was hired to his current post by Titans controlling owner Amy Adams Strunk. 14
Vrabel’s accomplishments as a player included three Super Bowl wins (2001, 2003 and 2004), one Pro Bowl selection (2007) and an All-Pro honor (2007). He appeared in 206 NFL games and totaled 57 sacks, 496 tackles, 11 interceptions (one returned for a touchdown), 20 forced fumbles and nine fumble recoveries. A cerebral and versatile athlete, he also saw action as a tight end and totaled 10 touchdown receptions. Additionally, his teams advanced to the playoffs eight times (20 postseason games), with Vrabel recording eight postseason sacks and two additional postseason touchdown receptions. Vrabel has spent his football life around accomplished leaders. After entering the NFL as a player in 1997, he played or coached under Bill Belichick, Bill Cowher, Romeo Crennel, Urban Meyer and Bill O’Brien. He gleaned attributes from each that helped form his philosophies as a head coach. Upon arriving in Tennessee, Vrabel stated: “We want to build a culture around winning, competitiveness and toughness. Everything we do is going to be geared towards winning and being physical. We want to prepare our players so they know what to do, which will allow them to play fast and aggressive.” Vrabel likewise made his own indelible impression on the same group of coaches. Upon the trade of Vrabel from the Patriots to the Chiefs in 2009, Belichick, who coached Vrabel his entire time in New England, made this comment: “Mike Vrabel epitomizes everything a coach could seek in a professional football player: toughness, intelligence, playmaking, leadership, versatility and consistency at the highest level. Behind the scenes, Mike’s wit and personality is one of the things we have all enjoyed about coming to work every day. The toughest aspect of my job is the day I stop coaching people like Mike, who did everything in his power to contribute to team success. Of all the players I have coached in my career, there is nobody I enjoyed working with more than Mike.” Vrabel joined the Titans after four seasons with O’Brien at the Houston Texans, spending the first three seasons (2014-16) coaching linebackers and one

year (2017) as the team’s defensive coordinator. During his time in Houston, the Texans built one of the top defenses in the NFL and experienced tremendous success as a team, earning division titles in 2015 and 2016. O’Brien had this to say on Vrabel: “When you are around guys like Mike you know that it is inevitable that he is going to be a head coach. He is a great leader, and he did an excellent job for us developing players, coaching the defense. He is a very, very hard worker, and he has a really good presence about him. He cares about people, and he has a great family … When you walk into the room in front of a team, you have to have ‘it,’ and he’s got ‘it.’” In 2017, Vrabel’s first year as a defensive coordinator, the Texans finished the campaign with 19 players on injured reserve. Despite the setbacks, he led the defense to the fifth-best third-down percentage in the NFL and a franchiserecord 3.97 yards per carry by opponents. Houston also had 18 different players record at least half a sack and 26 players tally at least one tackle for loss. As the Texans linebackers coach from 2014-16, Vrabel helped mold several top-notch performers within his position group, including Jadeveon Clowney, Whitney Mercilus, Benardrick McKinney and Brian Cushing. During those three seasons, the Texans defense ranked third in the NFL in yards allowed per game (319.9) and net passing yards (218.4). Houston also ranked first in third-down defense (33.6 percent), fourth in opponent completion percentage (59.5) and sixth in points allowed per game (19.8). The 2016 Texans ranked number one in the NFL – for the first time in franchise history – in total defense, surrendering only 301.3 yards per game. The defense also gave up the fewest first downs (17.0) per game and second-fewest net passing yards (201.6) per game in the league. Clowney, Mercilus and McKinney all earned second-team All-Pro honors, while Clowney was named to the Pro Bowl for the first time in his career after posting personal bests with 52 tackles, six sacks, 16 tackles for loss and 17 quarterback hits. Mercilus led the team in sacks for the first time in his career with 7.5 quarterback takedowns and tied for the NFL lead with four defensive fumble recoveries. McKinney led the team with a career-high 129 tackles and became the second player in franchise history with over 100 tackles and five sacks in a season. The 2015 Texans had the top third-down defense in the NFL, allowing a 28.5 percent conversion rate, which was the lowest percentage in franchise history and the lowest by any NFL team since the 2003 Titans (27.7 percent). The 2015 defense also set a franchise mark with 45 sacks – 22.5 of which came from Vrabel’s linebacking corps. The 2015 squad also finished third in the NFL in net yards (310.2) and net passing yards (210.4) allowed per game and tied for seventh in points allowed per game (19.6). Cushing’s 110 tackles led the linebacking corps and were the third-highest mark of his career. Mercilus enjoyed the best year of his career as he set a personal high with 12 sacks. Prior to joining the NFL coaching ranks, Vrabel transitioned immediately from an NFL player to college coach. He started as the linebacker coach at Ohio State in 2011 and coached the defensive line from 2012–2013. In 2012, the Buckeyes finished the season undefeated at 12-0, and Vrabel was named Big Ten Recruiter of the Year by ESPN.com. That same season, he coached four Ohio State defensive linemen who were either drafted into the NFL or signed free agent contracts. Vrabel was selected by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the third round (91st overall) of the 1997 NFL Draft after playing four years at Ohio State (199396). With the Buckeyes, he was a dominant performer, earning back-to-back All-American honors and becoming the first two-time winner of the Big Ten Conference Defensive Lineman of the Year Award (1995 and 1996). He graduated from Ohio State with a degree in exercise science. A native of Akron, Ohio, Vrabel attended Walsh Jesuit High School. He and his wife, Jennifer, have two sons: Tyler and Carter.

Can a Special Needs Trust Help You? Peace of mind does not have to cost a fortune. Special Needs Trusts safeguard personal assets and provide for services or items that public benefits do not cover – all without jeopardizing eligibility for government benefits and public assistance programs. Vista Points serves as trustee for pooled, first party, and third party Special Needs Trusts. The organization focuses on helping: • people living with a disability • their parents and caregivers • the professionals who serve and guide them.

RECORD RUSHING PERFORMANCE!
A look back at Derrick Henry’s Career Night on National TV DERRICK HENRY rushed for a franchise-record 238 yards and four touchdowns in Tennessee’s 30-9 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars on Thursday Night Football, marking one of the most dominant performances in team and league history. Henry’s signature TD came on a 99-yard run, in which he tossed several defenders aside, tying the NFL’s longest play ever from scrimmage. The run topped Chris Johnson’s franchise-record 94-yard touchdown run against the New York Jets on Dec. 17, 2012. He also became the third player in franchise history to rush for four touchdowns in a game, joining Earl Campbell and Lorenzo White.

TENNESSEAN OF THE YEAR Titans Owner Amy Adams Strunk Honored as 2019 Tennessean of the Year by Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame
TITANS CONTROLLING OWNER Amy Adams Strunk received a standing ovation at the Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame banquet in June while being honored as the 2019 Tennessean of the Year. After a video played recognizing her work in the state – from helping bring the 2019 NFL Draft to Nashville to her generosity in the community to the resurgence of her football team – Strunk gave thanks to football fans in the state, stating she was honored to receive the award on a night when the 2019 Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame class was inducted. The star-studded class included Kippy Brown, David Cutcliffe, Charles Davis, Kara Lawson, Peyton Manning, George Taliaferro, Bob Tillman, Kimberly Anne Valek and Patrick Willis. “I am just awed when I look at the inductees and what they did in their careers,” Strunk said. “I am just happy to be here and I’m so appreciative.” The Tennessean of the Year award “honors an individual or organization that has made significant contributions to our society through sports or other methods, demonstrating strong character and high profile leadership.” The Tennessean of the Year award was first awarded by the Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame in 1982. The award is not bestowed each year; only when people are deemed worthy. 114

NFL DRAFT A SMASHING SUCCESS IN NASHVILLE Sets Record with 600,000 Fans in Attendance, 47.5 Million Viewers
WHEN THE 2019 NFL DRAFT was awarded to Nashville, it was expected to be a success in Music City. But no one could have predicted the record-setting week that was to come. The Draft easily shattered records for attendance, as over 600,000 fans filled the streets of Nashville for the three-day event. The NFL and the Nashville Convention & Visitors Corp announced it generated a record $133 million in direct spending -- a 79 percent increase over the $74 million at the 2018 Dallas event. The economic impact was another record-breaker at $224 million, also a 79 percent increase over the $125 million in 2018. In April, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell praised Titans owner Amy Adams Strunk for her role in bringing the 2019 NFL Draft to the city. “While I am proud to have been involved, the people of Tennessee were the true stars of the show and I want to thank every single person who touched the event,” Strunk said. “They say it takes a village, but this event, it took an amazing city and a great state to come together and throw one of the biggest parties in NFL history.” With a combined 3.9 HH TV rating and average of 6.1M TV and digi116
tal viewers, the 2019 NFL Draft was the highest-rated and most-watched Draft ever, breaking records established just a year ago. In total, all NFL Draft telecasts combined to reach more than 47.5 million television viewers over the three-day event, up 5 percent vs. 2018. Many of those in Nashville not attending the NFL Draft in-person were watching from home, as the market combined for a 10.6 HH rating – up 104 percent versus Nashville last year, and up 74 percent versus the 2018 host city. “The 2019 NFL Draft was a tremendous continuation of the celebration of the NFL’s 100th season and an opportunity to welcome the next generation of stars,” said NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell. “Dramatic and emotional storylines played out in cities across the country with the energetic host city of Nashville serving as a breathtaking backdrop to hundreds of thousands of passionate fans who lined the streets and enjoyed a unique NFL Draft Experience. We congratulate our newest players and their families and thank the Tennessee Titans, the Nashville Convention and Visitors Corp., the City of Nashville, the volunteers, and everyone who made the Draft such a memorable, entertaining, and successful experience.”

FIGHTING HUNGER Titans Owner Amy Adams Strunk Donates $100k to Local Non-Profits Fighting Hunger
TENNESSEE TITANS controlling owner Amy Adams Strunk donated $100,000 to a pair of Nashville non-profits charged with fighting hunger in the community. Strunk presented checks of $50,000 each to The Bridge Ministry and Second Harvest Food Bank Middle Tennessee at a large-scale food bag assembly event at Nissan Stadium. Strunk surprised the two non-profits at the NFL’s kickoff community event of the 2019 NFL Draft which was held last April in Nashville. More than 500 volunteers, including numerous NFL Draft prospects, assembled and distributed 8,000 food packs to children in need. The Titans have long-standing relationships with both charities, including yearly visits to serve the homeless at the Bridge Ministries and annual food drives at Titans games to benefit Second Harvest. FRANCHISE LEGENDS LOCKED IN
Titans to Retire Steve McNair’s No. 9 and Eddie George’s No. 27 Jerseys EDDIE GEORGE and Steve McNair. Steve McNair and Eddie George.
Think of the Tennessee Titans, and two of their all-time greats come to mind because of their success on the field, their toughness and grit – and the impact they’ve made in the state of Tennessee. Now, the Tennessee legends will be honored by the team, and ownership, by having the jersey numbers 9 and 27 retired. McNair’s No. 9 jersey and George’s No. 27 jersey will be retired in a ceremony during the Sept. 15 home opener against the Indianapolis Colts, Titans controlling owner Amy Adams Strunk announced last spring. “Steve and Eddie will be forever linked as two of the driving forces for our team in the late 90’s and early 2000’s,” Strunk said. “They were the heart and soul of the team and each made the other a better player and ultimately led to a great deal of team success. Their statistics will forever live in our record books, but their play and sacrifice is what our fans will always remember. For that and all that they have done for our team, the number 9 and 27 will be retired with the all-time franchise greats.” 120

In the history of the Oilers/Titans franchise, only six players have had the distinction of having their jersey number retired – Jim Norton (No.43), Elvin Bethea (No.65), Earl Campbell (No.34), Mike Munchak (No.63), Bruce Matthews (No.74) and Warren Moon (No.1). During the duo’s time together (1996–2003), the team’s 80-48 record (.625) ranked third in the NFL behind only the Green Bay Packers’ 88-40 record (.688) and the Denver Broncos’ 83-45 (.648) mark. Together they experienced four total playoff appearances (1999, 2000, 2002 and 2003), two division titles (2000 and 2002), two AFC Championship games (1999 and 2002) and an appearance in Super Bowl XXXIV. McNair was the third overall draft pick in 1995 by the Houston Oilers, and he made the No.9 a special one during his career. McNair played from 1995-2005 with the Oilers/Titans before playing his final two NFL seasons (2006-2007) with the Baltimore Ravens. In 11 seasons with the Titans, McNair set team records and accumulated the most wins of any quarterback in Titans/Oilers history. McNair, who led Tennessee’s famous drive that ended up a yard short of forcing overtime in Super Bowl XXXIV, also made a big impact in the Nashville community through the Steve McNair Foundation. He was selected as the 2005 Titans Walter Payton Award Winner, given to the team’s Community Man of the Year. He was a four-time Pro Bowler, and he was co-MVP of the NFL with Colts quarterback Peyton Manning in 2003. McNair finished his career with 31,304 yards passing and 174 touchdowns. As a member of the Titans, he was credited with 20 game-winning drives in the regular season and postseason, finishing second all-time behind Moon (23). McNair was tragically killed in Nashville on July 4, 2009, but his memory remains alive around the team, and in the city. A first-round pick by the Titans in 1996, George made the No. 27 legendary in Tennessee. George is the Titans/Oilers record holder for career rushing yards (10,009), ahead of Hall of Famer Earl Campbell (9,407). He finished his career with 10,441 yards. George is the only running back in NFL history to record 300 or more carries for eight consecutive seasons. He is the organization’s all-time scrimmage yards leader (12,153). During his playing days in Tennessee (1996-2003), George never missed a game – a span of 128 starts. He was a 1,000-yard rusher seven times, and a four-time Pro Bowler. George racked up 36 100yard games, and the Titans recorded a 30-6 record in those games. George’s finest season came in 2000, when he rushed for 1,509 yards, scored 16 total touchdowns, and six 100-yard performances for the 13-3 Titans. Playing alongside McNair, George helped the Titans reach the playoffs four times in his eight years in Nashville, including a Super Bowl, and two AFC title games. George went over 1,300 yards in a season four times, and he racked up 12,668 all-purpose yards in his career. George averaged 1,160 rushing yards per season during his nine-year NFL career. Among all players who have played six seasons, only six averaged more rushing yards per season: Barry Sanders (1,527), Jim Brown (1,368), Payton (1,287), Curtis Martin (1,282), LaDainian Tomlinson (1,244) and Emmitt Smith (1,224). George, Tomlinson and Eric Dickerson are the only three NFL running backs to rush for 1,200 or more yards in each of their first five NFL seasons. Earlier, McNair and George were inducted into the Titans/Oilers Hall of Fame. TENNESSEE TITANS YEARBOOK 2019

DERRICK MORGAN, BRIAN ORAKPO ANNOUNCE NFL RETIREMENTS Defensive duo departs after productive years of service to team
TITANS LINEBACKERS Derrick Morgan and Brian Orakpo both announced their NFL retirements during the offseason. Morgan, a first-round draft pick by the Titans in 2010, announced his news on social media in July after playing all nine of his NFL seasons with the Titans. Orakpo announced his retirement the day after the 2018 season, calling it a career following 10 NFL seasons, including his last four with the Titans. Morgan finished his career with 420 tackles, 44.5 sacks and 214 quarterback pressures. He played in 118 games in Tennessee, with 106 starts. He played for five different head coaches with the Titans, from Jeff Fisher to Mike Munchak to Ken Whisenhunt to Mike Mularkey to Mike Vrabel. 122
“The teammates that I have come in contact with — guys like Karl Klug, Jurrell Casey, Wesley Woodyard,” Morgan said. “Being able to develop friendships and a bond with guys like that has been the best part of the whole journey. A four-time Pro Bowler, Orakpo began his career with the Washington Redskins (2009-2014) before joining the Titans in 2015. He finished his career with 530 tackles, 66 sacks and 330 quarterback pressures. “I wanted to walk away from the game on my terms – healthy, great state of mind,” Orakpo said. “This is something to cherish. It is something to be happy about. It is kind of bittersweet, but we all have to go at some time, and I believe this is my time.”

CHRIS JOHNSON RETIRES A TITAN With 7,965 yards, Johnson departed Tennessee as the franchise’s No. 3 all-time rusher behind Eddie George (10,009) and Earl Campbell (8,574)
FIRST, Chris Johnson wants to get one thing straight – he’s still fast, and he could still perform at a high level in the NFL if given the opportunity. “I feel like if I trained the right way, I’d still be in the 4.2s,” said the former Titans running back, who was clocked at a time of 4.24 at the NFL Combine in 2008. And yes, the guy who became known simply as “CJ2K” insists he could still rack up yards in the NFL even after being out of the league for a year. “I know for sure I’d get 1,000 yards if I laced them up,” a smiling Johnson said. “Shoot, that’s not even a question. You put me in an offense where I’m the starting back, there’s no way I wouldn’t get 1,000 yards. I could still do it, but it’s time to move on to the next situation.” The next situation for Johnson is to officially retire from the NFL – as a Titan. Johnson, the electrifying back who played for the Titans from 2008-2013, signed a one-day contract to retire from the NFL as a Titan last April in Nashville. Johnson announced his retirement from the league in November, but he said he wanted to go out as a Titan. Johnson played one season with the Jets (2014) and three seasons with the Cardinals (2015-17) after leaving Tennessee, a place he said felt like home after being drafted in the first round of the 2008 NFL Draft out of East Carolina. “Tennessee, that’s the first organization that gave me a chance to make my dreams come true,” Johnson said. “I have so many great memories in Tennessee and was able to do so many things with the Titans. It’s an organization I always want to be considered a part of. “I grew up in Tennessee. I went from being a kid to a grown man here. I 124
might have grown up as a kid in (my hometown of) Orlando, but I was still a kid in Nashville when I got there. The team and the city, they’ve always shown me so much love. I have great memories from my days with the Titans, so many on the field and in the city. I’ve always loved Tennessee, and I always will because I’ve always felt so much love.” With 7,965 yards, Johnson departed Tennessee as the franchise’s No. 3 all-time rusher behind Eddie George (10,009) and Earl Campbell (8,574). Over the six seasons, only Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson (8,774) had more rushing yards than Johnson. Johnson’s run with the Titans was highlighted by a 2009 season when he became just the sixth back in NFL history to eclipse the 2,000-yard mark in a season. Johnson was named the NFL’s offensive player of the year that season, when he finished with 2,006 yards and set an NFL record with 2,509 yards from scrimmage. Johnson, who compiled 35 100-yard rushing games in six seasons with the Titans, including 24 games when he racked up 125 or more, said he loved every minute of his days in the NFL, with the Titans. He finished his NFL career with 9,651 rushing yards and 55 touchdowns. He also caught 307 passes for 2,255 yards and nine touchdowns. Today, Johnson has twin boys, and a one-year-old daughter. He makes his home in Orlando. Johnson keeps busy, having recently launched “Johnson Performance Supplements.” “I’d be lying if I said I didn’t miss it. I do miss it, but it’s time to go on to the next chapter and see what’s going to be next in my book.”

ALTERRAUN VERNER RETIRES A TITAN Titans career included 64 games played, 11 interceptions, two forced fumbles, five fumble recoveries and two TD returns A FOURTH-ROUND DRAFT PICK by the Titans in the 2010 NFL Draft, cornerback Alterraun Verner had some pretty modest goals as he first set foot in Tennessee. Verner was confident in his abilities. But he also realized nothing was guaranteed. “My dream was just to play in the NFL,” Verner said. “I guess I wasn’t expecting too much. I knew I was coming to a team with an opening to compete for a starting job. But I was just trying to make the team as a special teams person at the start. To have things unfold for me the way they did, to be able to play and contribute as a rookie, and to eventually end up being a Pro Bowler ... It’s something I never thought would happen.” In April, Verner signed a one-day contract and officially retired as a Titan. Verner, who also played for the Buccaneers and Dolphins during his eightyear NFL career, said his time in Tennessee was special. “The place that felt the most like home to me was always Tennessee, and that was mainly because of the fans and the players I played with,” Verner said. “Some of the best friends I still talk to today – Jason McCourty, Coty Sensabaugh, Jurrell Casey, Robert Johnson, who I was drafted with. And 126
the fans were always the best. I was able to write on the blog for Music City Miracles and I really felt like I was a big part of things. … I just had a lot of great memories there.” Verner played four seasons (2010-13) for the Titans and became just the third cornerback (Samari Rolle and Cortland Finnegan) in the Titans era (1999-present) to earn Pro Bowl honors following his 2013 season. During his Titans career, Verner totaled 64 games played, 11 interceptions, two forced fumbles, five fumble recoveries and two touchdown returns. Overall for his NFL career, he played eight seasons (125 games) and tallied 15 interceptions. Today, Verner lives south of Los Angeles, with his wife and three young boys. He was recently accepted to a graduate program for teaching, and he plans to get his master’s degree. His goal is to teach mathematics, his major at UCLA, at a high school. Among Verner’s fondest moments included his first career interception, against Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo during his rookie year. He recalled the season-opening win at Pittsburgh in 2013, when he also had a pick, and his first career defensive touchdown in a win over the Lions in 2013.

LONDON GAME
Titans Play First Game in London in Franchise History WHEN THE TITANS touched down in the United Kingdom last fall, they were greeted by a handful of Titans fans at Heathrow Airport. When they showed up for practice later in the day, they felt like kings. “It’s pretty cool,” linebacker Wesley Woodyard said. “Any time you can practice with a castle in the background, it’s pretty cool.” The Titans practiced in the shadow of a castle on a makeshift football field adjacent to the team’s hotel in Syon Park, located roughly 10 miles from Central London, for their first game in London in franchise history against the Los Angeles Chargers at Wembley Stadium. “I am pretty sure there’s a lot of stuff in here worth a whole lot of money, especially these statues,” safety Kevin Byard said. “I am not sure of the exact value, but I am sure it’s pretty expensive.” 128
Titans owner Amy Adams Strunk joined franchise legends Eddie George, Jevon Kearse and Keith Bulluck, along with Titans cheerleaders and mascot T-Rac for fan festivities and other youth football initiatives throughout their stay. While the team lost a 20-19 heartbreaker, the experience created lifelong memories players will always cherish. “It is a privilege to come out here and play, and to be able to expand the game, and be able to share the game we love. It was a great experience,” quarterback Marcus Mariota said. “We got to come in and experience another country, another city, and it was a lot of fun. The fans were great, they were out in full force. So it was a special experience and one that I will always remember for sure.”

FRANCHISE HALL OF FAMER
Former Houston Oilers Great Robert Brazile Inducted into Pro Football Hall of Fame FORMER HOUSTON OILERS LINEBACKER Robert Brazile is a Hall of Famer who never played an NFL game in the state of Tennessee. Yet in so many ways, he feels like a Titan. And because of that, he’s forever grateful to Titans controlling owner Amy Adams Strunk. “I can’t tell you how much it means to me,” Brazile said. “She has made me feel like I am such a big part of things, like I am a Titan. She’s been so good to me, just like her dad was always good to me. And I thank her from the bottom of my heart.” Brazile, who played from 1975-84 with the Oilers, was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame back in August. Last season, he served as the Honorary 12th Titan for the team’s game against the Ravens. He also received his Hall of Fame Ring of Excellence in a special ceremony. Brazile will go into the team’s Ring of Honor, where his name will be on display atop Nissan Stadium. A first-round pick by the Houston Oilers in 1975, Brazile played 10 seasons and never missed a game. He was voted to seven consecutive Pro Bowls, and was named to three All-Pro teams. Nicknamed “Dr. Doom,” Brazile helped the Oilers to three consecutive 10-win seasons, and he started at linebacker in back-to-back AFC Championship Game appearances. “The guys in Houston, no fault of their own, kind of got left out – they kind of became NFL orphans, and it always bothered me,” Strunk said. “It became important for me to include them, have a reunion and start bridging whatever happened in the past to get them feeling like they are part of our family. “Robert, he is just the most wonderful person. I have the most utmost affection for him. And nobody deserved to be in the Hall of Fame more. I am so proud of him.” 130

WELCOME HOME Titans Welcome Back 80 Former Players for Homecoming Weekend
THE TITANS WELCOMED back over 80 former players for Homecoming weekend, and the group included former running back Chris Johnson. Johnson served as the Honorary 12th Titan during the Week 13 game against the N.Y. Jets at Nissan Stadium, a day in which all of the alumni players on hand were honored at halftime. The former players gathered for a Friday night social function in Nashville, attended a walkthrough practice on Saturday and a special reception that evening. “It’s surreal to be back here. This is where I grew up. I was a 21-year-old when I came into the league, and I went from being a young man to a man. I definitely have good memories,” said Johnson, who became just the sixth back in NFL history to eclipse the 2,000-yard mark in a season in 2009. “The best memories I had in the league came here. The Titans are the ones that gave me an opportunity to make my dreams come true.” Johnson was joined by “Smash and Dash” partner LenDale White during the weekend festivities. “It’s nice to come back and feel the love,” White said. “And to be back here on the practice field, it brings back a lot of memories.” TENNESSEE TITANS YEARBOOK 2019

We’ve visited nearly 400 cities in four states and made nearly 500 total stops. We’ve traveled more than 51,000 total miles and taken thousands of pictures. Our players have signed tens of thousands of autographs and shaken more than 250,000 hands at no cost to our fans. Why? Because we absolutely love our fans! That’s the story behind the long history of the Tennessee Titans Caravan. It’s about bringing the Tennessee Titans out to the fans of the mid-south to say thank you for your support.

Titans, United Way Team Up for Community Initiatives TITAN UP FOR TOTS
A cornerstone community partner of the NFL and the Titans, United Way brings people and organizations together to create a community where individuals, families and neighborhoods thrive. The Titans and United Way of Metro Nashville teamed up to host the 5th Annual Titan Up for Tots Community Baby Shower in June. At team headquarters, players, coaches, staff and cheerleaders assembled 3,500 diaper bags to distribute to at-risk mothers throughout the Nashville community. A total of 10,000 diaper bags have been delivered since the inception of the event in 2015.
STUFF THE BUS
This year’s Stuff the Bus campaign provided 11,000 Metro Nashville public school students with brand new backpacks to start the school year off right. Prior to distributing the backpacks, close to 1,000 volunteers gathered at Nissan Stadium to fill the backpacks with brand new school supplies. Teachers at 14 schools also received boxes full of supplies for the school new year. 134

TITANS SPELLING BEE Titans Host Regional Spelling Bee Annually at Nissan Stadium
FORTY-EIGHT ELEMENTARY and middle school students, along with more than 200 spectators, including parents, teachers and friends arrived at Nissan Stadium to compete in one of the nation’s oldest and most iconic competitions: the spelling bee. The fourth annual Tennessee Titans Regional Spelling Bee showcased the talents of the brightest students across 51 counties in middle and west Tennessee. More than 130 schools registered to participate in 2019. To qualify for the regional competition, each student won their schoollevel spelling bee and also scored in the top 50 of an online, semi-final test that included both spelling and vocabulary questions. Competition was strong, with students correctly spelling words like: · Schipperke · Bobbejaan · Nachtmusik · Balalaika · Pfeffernuss Surviving 15 rounds and more than four grueling hours of competition, Jack Parker of Fred J Page Middle School in Franklin took first place. Keller Smith of Huntingdon Middle School in west Tennessee placed second. As the top two spellers, both earned an all-expense-paid trip to compete in the 2019 Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington, D.C. in late May. The competition is broken up into multiple days, with the final rounds aired live on ESPN. For more information on the national competition and to eventually see a list of the qualifying students from all 50 states and several territories, visit www.spellingbee.com. THANKSGIVING SPIRIT
Titans team with The Bridge Ministry to Feed Homeless a Thanksgiving Meal FOR THE FIFTH YEAR IN A ROW, the Titans teamed up with The Bridge Ministry to feed the homeless a Thanksgiving meal. Roughly 120 members of the organization, including players, coaches and members of the front office took part in the event. Family members joined Titans cheerleaders and T-Rac in the group as well. “The goal is to bring joy, and give them the holiday spirit,” Titans defensive lineman Jurrell Casey said. “To come out and put a smile on someone’s face, and see the happiness, and bring joy to this world, is what it is all about.” Every Tuesday, the homeless gather under the bridge, located not far from where the Titans play on Sundays, and just a few miles from the team’s practice facility in Metro Center. Nashville has 11,000 homeless in the city, including 4,000 children. On this night, an estimated 500 men, women and children from the homeless community turned out to receive meals, blankets, gloves, scarfs, and nonperishable items. Some in the Titans group played games with kids. “Any time we can give of ourselves and the resources that we have as an organization, as a team, as players, around the holidays and throughout the year, it is a great thing,” Titans head coach Mike Vrabel said. “We understand that there’s a lot of other people that don’t have the same gifts we’ve been given.” 136

COMMUNITY SERVICE HONOR Jurrell Casey Named Titans Walter Payton Man of the Year
TITANS DEFENSIVE TACKLE Jurrell Casey was named the team’s 2018 Walter Payton Man of the Year for his continued outstanding service in the greater Nashville community and beyond. This prestigious NFL award has been in existence since 1970 honoring players who demonstrate outstanding balance in their lives between civic and professional responsibilities. In 1999, the NFL renamed the award after the late Walter Payton as a tribute to his greatness, both on and off the field. “It is definitely a blessing,” said Casey, a 2011 draft pick by the Titans. “It just shows the hard work and the dedication that I’ve continued to do off the field. It makes me feel good for people to see me want to give back to the community. “I think the biggest thing for me is understanding the world, understanding society. Growing up, understanding that everybody is going through a struggle, everybody is needing help. And my mindset was if I was ever in a position to do so, no matter what position I was in, if you have a chance to give back then you should do it.” A three-time Pro Bowler on the field, Casey has been a giant off the field as well during his time in Nashville. He was also the team’s Walter Payton Man of the Year in 2016 for his work in the community. He’s been a captain five years in a row. INCLUDED IN CASEY’S WORK:

TITANS TUESDAYS
Titans make impact on local students, spread cheer to hospital patients
THE TITANS SCHOOL PROGRAM — implemented at both the middle and elementary school level — is focused on promoting the NFL’s PLAY 60 and Fuel Up to PLAY 60 campaign. During an assembly, Titans players share their personal story and the importance of making good choices, staying focused, making homework a priority before outside activities, staying in school, and listening to their parents and teachers. The players also stress the importance of healthy eating and leading an active lifestyle. Following the assembly, select students — nominated by their schools for leadership, grades and behavior — are invited to a special meet-and-greet opportunity.
Tennessee State Parks began a partnership with the Titans school program in spring 2012 and has added further educational elements to the program that include displaying of bald eagles, red-tailed hawks, owls and other animals in the care of Tennessee State Park rangers. There are 54 state parks across Tennessee and any one of them is a great place to be active. Additional partners of the Titans school program include the State of Tennessee Department of Health, the American Heart Association and the Southeast United Dairy Industry Association.
THE TITANS HOSPITAL PROGRAM is a long-standing tradition the team implemented in 1999 where players visit with Saint Thomas Health patients who are receiving care ranging from joint replacement to minimally invasive surgical procedures including heart transplants to families who are welcoming a newborn babies. Visits include the hospitals located in Davidson and Rutherford counties, where many patients are season ticket holders, making the moments even more special. Players also visit a 40-bed JCAHO-accredited nursing home in Hickman County, where senior adults receive extended care. Saint Thomas Health is a family of Tennessee hospitals and physician practices united by a single mission: to provide spiritually centered, holistic care that sustains and improves the health of the communities they serve. As a part of Ascension Health, the largest not-for-profit health care system in the United States, they are committed to healing and dedicated to service, especially to persons who are poor or needy, reflecting the spiritual core of their mission, vision and values. NISSAN STADIUM
Home of the Titans Since Inaugural 1999 Season ON JUNE 25, 2015, the Titans and Nissan North America announced the formation of a 20-year, exclusive naming-rights partnership that rebranded Nashville’s downtown stadium as Nissan Stadium. Nissan Stadium hosts all Titans home football games, Tennessee State University home football games, the Music City Bowl, international soccer games, concerts, the CMA Music Festival and numerous other events. The procurement of naming rights to Nissan Stadium fit the automotive company’s ‘Fewer, Bigger, Better’ marketing strategy, which has included ongoing sponsorships of NBC’s The Voice, the Heisman House college football program and a major advertising presence at the Super Bowl. Nissan is also known as the official automotive partner of the Tennessee Titans. Nissan’s ever-growing footprint in Tennessee includes vehicle and powertrain manufacturing facilities in Smyrna and Decherd respectively, along with its North American headquarters in Franklin. The Nissan Smyrna plant began operations in 1983 and employs more than 8,400 people. In 2014, the Smyrna plant assembled more than 648,000

vehicles, making it the highest volume automotive assembly plant in North America. Nissan also has a major manufacturing presence in Canton, Miss., along with research and development groups in California, Arizona and Michigan. In total, the company employs more than 22,000 employees in the U.S. An important component of the Titans-Nissan partnership is assisting charitable organizations throughout Middle Tennessee in an array of community outreach programs. A centerpiece of this is the annual “Taste of Titans” charitable event, for which Nissan serves as presenting sponsor and which this year benefited the ALS Association, Tennessee Chapter. During the course of a 20-year relationship, a total of more than $1 million resulting from these annual events is anticipated to be distributed to local nonprofit organizations. Nissan Stadium is a city-owned venue that has housed the Titans since 1999. The naming rights agreement included the opportunity for Nissan branding on the exterior of the stadium, as well as stadium signage and other unique displays inside the stadium. LP Building Products previously held the naming rights to the stadium since 2006.

SAINT THOMAS SPORTS PARK Team Headquarters and Practice Facility of the Tennessee Titans
ON MAY 15, 1998, the team selected a 31-acre site at the MetroCenter complex in Nashville as the team’s permanent practice location. Since that time, a beautiful multimillion-dollar facility has been built by Nashvillebased Powell Building Group on the property, located just north of downtown Nashville about five miles from Nissan Stadium. The team moved into the facility on Aug. 26, 1999, the day after training camp completed and the day before the first preseason game at Nissan Stadium. The 80,000-square-foot building contains a state-of-the-art locker room, weight rooms, a training room, cafeteria, broadcast studio, meeting rooms and offices for coaches, players and administrative staff. The building also features an auditorium with seating for 125 people, as well as other meeting rooms. Designed to exceed the standards of all previous training and practice

facilities, the weight training center and rehabilitation treatment facility sets the model for all professional sports. The facility boasts three outdoor practice fields with natural grass, plus an enclosed field. Logistically, each field is identical to the playing surface at Nissan Stadium, from the 100-yard length to the geographic orientation. The longitudinal center of each field is 24 degrees west of north, just like the field at Nissan Stadium, enabling the Titans to practice in the same slanting sunlight they face on Sundays. Powell, a leading builder in Middle Tennessee, was chosen for its stateof-the-art construction planning and building techniques. The facility occupies a beautiful site chosen from over 60 reviewed locations; a lakefront peninsula across from the Fountain Square commercial development located within a few miles from downtown Nashville.
