Our beloved, MOTHER GENEVA M. JUNIOR was born on August 7, 1948, to the late Henry and Elizabeth Martin in Pensacola, Florida. She was affectionately known as Genny Sue to her loved ones and friends. God gently took her hand and brought her to her Heavenly home on December 28, 2021. She was a proud graduate of Booker T. Washington High School in 1965. She continued her studies at Bethune–Cookman College, where she earned an Associates Degree in 1967. Later in 1967, Mother Junior began her career at Monsanto Chemical Company (Solutia). During her career she received many awards and certificates for her outstanding service. She was medically retired in 1990 from Monsanto but kept an active role in planning annual social activities for the retirees. Mother Junior always cherished Booker T. Washington High School, and after her retirement she became very active in enriching the lives of band students. Because of her involvement, Escambia County School District awarded her an Outstanding Volunteer Award in August 2016. Mother Junior’s community involvement did not stop with the schools, it continued with her dedication as an Escambia County Poll Worker. For many years, Mother Junior greeted voters during elections and proudly gave out the “I Voted” stickers. In May 1989, she was united in marriage to Robert Lee Junior and was blessed with a blended family. Mother Junior loved the church and could always be counted on for her words of wisdom. She accepted Christ at an early age and was a very active member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church since 1973 under the leadership of the late Dr. Nathaniel Smith. She served as the President of the Mission Ministry and was often recognized by the beautiful hats she wore. In 2016, Mother Junior joined First Baptist Church of Warrington under the leadership of Dr. James H. Miller, Sr. While at First Baptist she served as President of the Mothers Ministry. Mother Junior left a lasting legacy at First Baptist with the church pew plaques that honored members past and present. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Junior; two sisters Roberta Martin and Rosemary Crowe; two brothers Henry (aka Fats) Martin and Johnny Martin; and stepdaughter Tremetrice Junior. To cherish her sweet memory, she leaves two sons David Dale, Bobby (Tara) Williams, and daughter Princess Rovette Walls. Stepchildren Timothy (Regina) Junior and Tiffany (Tee) Junior; 19 grandchildren and 15 great children and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A Tribute to our Mother If roses grow in heaven, Lord please pick a bunch for me, Place them in my Mother’s arms and tell her they’re from me. Tell her I love her and miss her, and when she turns to smile, place a kiss upon her cheek and hold her for awhile. Because remembering her is easy, I do it every day, but there’s an ache within my heart that will never go away.

The Broken Chain
We little knew the day that God was going to call your name. In life we loved you dearly, In death we do the same. It broke our hearts to lose you But you didn’t go alone. For part of us went with you The day God called you home. You left us peaceful memories. Your love is still our guide, And though we cannot see you You are always at our side. Our family chain is broken and nothing seems the same, but as God calls us one by one the chain will link again.

Im Free
Don’t grieve for me for now I’m free, I’m following the path God laid for me. I took His hand when I heard Him call: I turned my back and left it all. I could not stay another day To laugh, to love, to work or play. Tasks left undone must stay that way; I found my place at the close of day. If my parting has left a void Then fill it with remembered joys. A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss, Ah yes, these things I too shall miss.
Be not burdened with times of sorrow: I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow. My life’s been full, I savoured much; Good friends, good times, a loved ones touch. Perhaps my life seemed all too brief: Don’t lengthen it now with undue grief. Lift up your heart and share with me; God wanted me now, He set me free.
