One Year and Counting Tonight we share in celebrating the first anniversary of Terminal City Glass Co-op. We’ve done a lot for a one-year old. We’ve had over 200 students learn new things about glass this year. We’ve had artists from around the world visit and make work here. We’ve seen our membership double in size. We have had thousands of people tour our studio and watch demonstrations. In all of this, and perhaps most importantly, we have realized a dream in creating a community. It is the commitment of this community that makes Terminal City such a great place. Sharing, learning from each other, helping to achieve goals together; it is these things that makes us a stronger team, bolstering our connection to each other and fostering great creative relationships. From mentor to mentee, teacher to student, friend to friend, it is these connections that influence us, introduce us to new ideas, and ultimately build a memory of a medium. Of course everything in a glass studio is a work in progress. And every day is a new project, a way we can make something better or easier. And every task, great or small, deserves recognition. From taking out the trash, to volunteering at events, to spending days putting up shelves, to spending months organizing committees, we would be nothing without the contribution of our volunteers. We would be remiss not to mention another selfless expression so prominent before you tonight: the donor artists who have graciously given us the great pieces you see in the Silent Auction. It is because of these talented artists that we are able to raise crucial funds for our organization. We thank them all for their generous gifts. In the next year, we look forward to seeing our organization grow, to learn new things and to forge new friendships in glass, in art, and in our community. Thank you all for being a part of this great night! Sincerely,

The TCGC Board of Directors
