Tour de Fleece has become a traditional event that started in 2012, it follows the same dates as the bicycle Tour de France race. Folks that spin wool on a spinning wheel or drop spindle try and spin every day of the race. We hope that you will join us here at WAFA to share in the festivities and challenges. Here are the basic rules/ideas behind Tour De Fleece. 1. The basic idea is to set a challenge for yourself. It can be big or small and it really is your individual journey. It can be spinning worsted or woolen for part of the journey, it can be spinning art yarn or even tracking yards spun ,it can be spinning for a certain project. You can spin hours every day or minutes , you can take rest days or just do your own thing. Just have fun with it. 2. You should not start on your specific challenges/TDF projects before the race (date) begins. You CAN prep (card, build rolags, batts) and show off your TDF “prep” before it begins. Gather up your fluffy goodies (AND purchase more this next weekend) and post a picture of your challenges you are going to set for yourself. You can have more than one! You can also post as an individual post. Just include the #WAFATDF2021 so we can keep track of the posts. WAFA vendors will be having a bunch of giveaways and fun activities. If you’re not sure what to use for challenges, don’t fret, we will be posting some fun ideas! Start date 26th June 2021 Finishing date 18th of July 2021 WOOL AND FIBER ARTS

Harvest Hill Acres, located in the beautiful SOGN valley of south central Minnesota, is home to a purebred flock of CVM Romedale sheep. We also have llamas, angora rabbits, chickens, bees, barn cats and our golden retrievers who feel they own the place. We try to use everything used on the farm in our products so you will see feed bag totes, sheep pins made from skirtings. All our fiber products are natural colors, are locally processed at a mill. This sale will include NEW products that include Jacob sheep roving, llama roving, Antler buttons, Angora/Romeldale blend yarn, and as always new yarn colors from our sheep.

I have been knitting since I was a little girl. I got into knitting and spinning when our kids were in 4H. We raised sheep and angora goats. The kids are grown and gone, but we still run a small flock of colored angora goats that provide me with naturally colored white, red and black fleeces. I really got into knitting and designing 3 Dimensional knitting patterns approximately 17 years ago. Many of my patterns have been designed to use my mohair fleeces. I recently retired from healthcare, and now have more time to teach my craft and tend my goats. Come check out my soft clouds of mohair, in a variety of colors.
