NEW PERSPECTIVE
New Perspective introduces the testimony section of my first work, Calendars of Creation.
EMOJ: How old were you when you realized that you had a talent for running track? BIANCA: I was 12 years old when I first realized it. EMOJ: At what point did you compete nationally and internationally? BIANCA: I began competing nationally at the age of 12, and internationally at age 15. EMOJ: Tell me about the kind of rigorous training you have had to endure through out the years in order to be an Olympian Champion ? BIANCA: I don't think people realize that there are several other events to prepare for during the Olympic years.
There is always something to prepare for like World Indoor Championships as well as World Outdoor Championships, which are held every other year. So we don't necessarily train for the Olympics which comes every four years, we train period. At the end of the day, you have to make the Olympic team to become an Olympian and that happens due to how much you discipline yourself long before the time comes. EMOJ: Where did you attend Elementary School, Middle School, and High School. Are you currently enrolled in college? BIANCA: I attended Pearl Lower Elementary, Pearl Upper Elementary, Pearl Jr. High, and Ridgeland High School.
I am currently not enrolled in college due to the Olympics. My regular season ended after school had already begun, so I'll wait to take online classes in the spring at The University of Texas.
BIANACA: Never put a limit on what you can do, if it's in your heart, go for it... The worst that can happen is you tried. EMOJ: What are some of the competitions you have coming up?
EMOJ: What are some of the competitions you won in high BIANCA: We are in the off season right now. There will be no school and college? competitions on the professional level before January. BIANCA: In high school I won competitions in the 100m, EMOJ: What are some of your future goals? 200m, and 400m relays. I also achieved the collegiate record time of 22.40, breaking Veronica Campbell Brown’s collegiate record for 200m indoors.
EMOJ: Is there any more information that you would like to add?

during that race was 22.62 seconds for the 200m. ) EMOJ: Can you tell us about some of the foreign countries you have travelled to? BIANCA: I have traveled to countries such as the UK, Germany and Jamaica. But the most beautiful country that I have visited is Monaco, France. EMOJ: Have you made many friends along your journey to win Olympic Gold? BIANCA: I have met a lot of associates along the way, but none of which I'd consider to be a friend. I believe it takes a while to build a friendship so I very seldom call people my friend. EMOJ: Do you have time for much of a social life? BIANCA: Not really, but I have never really had a social life. I've been involved in athletics since age 10 and it has always been my priority. That and school, of course. EMOJ: What advice would you give to someone who is pursuing a dream?

A Car Wash With A Purpose If you want one of the best car washes in town you should stop by the car wash located at the Citco Gas Station on the corner of State Street and Sheppard Road.
Sometimes her former workers stop by to thank her and to tell her that they appreciate the way she would “get on them” because it made them better workers.
“Mama” as she is affectionately called, started “Boss Lady” as the guys sometimes call her, says the car wash about 3 years ago. that she is there to steer them in the right direc“I believe in old fashion car washes by hand”, tion. says Mama. “It’s hard work”, but Mama says: “When they go to a new job, they will know what hard work is.”
Mama feels that she is like a mother to some of the guys who don’t really have a mother figure in there lives. “God sent them to me”. Some of the guys who work at the car wash can’t find jobs elsewhere. “A little more is better than no money, it gives them some dignity.”
