Transit Nodes AMLI's STORY The skyline is changing along South Chicago Avenue in Evanston due to the recent groundbreaking of a new five story mixed use development. Located within walking distance of three train stations, two bus lines, St. Francis Hospital, eclectic shopping, diverse restaurants, cultural activities and Lake Michigan, the project will be both transit oriented and accessible to community amenities. The development includes 214 luxury rental units, 19 live-work units and 7,600 square feet of retail space. A corner plaza was designed as part of a public process which invited neighbor input. The landscape architecture is designed to complement the architecture of the buildings and to contribute to the development's’ goal to achieve LEED Silver Certification. Shared Success ASTELLA'S STORY Combine 3 towns with 1 large pharmaceutical company, mix with sustainable design, and you get one successful public private partnership. The Astellas Pharma, Inc. North American headquarters opened in Northbrook in June 2012. The 40 acre site includes two six-story buildings totaling 425,000 square feet, is expected to create 1200 jobs, and cost $150 million. Joint agreements between Glenview, Northbrook, and Prospect Heights were signed to regulate development of the site and govern sharing of tax revenues between all three jurisdictions. The landscape was designed to complement the architecture of the buildings and to contribute to the development's’ goal to achieve LEED Gold Certification. Stay tuned for future phases of this innovative project. TESKA SERVICES • Site Design • Landscape Design • Fiscal Analysis • Testimony / Zoning

Coming out of the firestorm of the national recession requires new partnerships and resources. Over the past several years, Teska has built a unique practice around community development, with clients as diverse as the communities we serve. The Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) has been a pivotal institution in Chicago to work with community development corporations, city agencies, and non-profit corporations to bring investment back into the community. Teska also helped design Habitat for Humanity’s national community development strategy last year and is providing technical assistance on community development and the Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP) implementation in Minneapolis, Houston, and local communities in Florida.
