Step Into the light for teachers coping with stress
Stress is a word that we hear often, but what does it mean? Stress is defined as “a nonspecific feeling of tension and pressure” (Dictionary com) Teachers are always on the go, running from one class period to another trying to get everything done promptly. This can cause teachers to feel stressed because they are not able to accomplish all of their tasks in the amount of time allotted
The prevalence of stress among teachers is also high as they are expected to meet the demands of their students while still maintaining professional integrity and personal well-being. This creates a high level of stress for many teachers who often turn to alcohol or drugs to cope with this emotional state

There are many ways that teachers can cope with stress; some may choose to exercise while others may choose to spend time with friends or family There are also many different ways that teachers can take care of themselves mentally and physically such as eating healthy meals or getting enough sleep each night. However, there is one way that most people do not think about when it comes to coping with stress; taking care of your physical appearance by grooming yourself properly at all times
In this writing, I will be discussing how teachers can take better care of themselves by focusing on their appearance and how this will help them cope with stress more effectively
Everyone has a different way of coping with stress
Some people go to the gym, some people go for a walk, and some people just stay at home and watch TV. But what do you do when you are stressed? Well, there are many ways that we can cope with our stress but one of the best ways is to talk about it. Talking about your feelings helps you release endorphins which makes you feel better. There are many things that I do when I am stressed out such as going for a run or just hanging out with my friends or family
It is believed that talking to loved ones regularly prevents stress and anxiety. People who don't speak to their loved ones tend to become sad and lonely. They also tend to have issues with eating, sleeping, and socializing However, speaking to your loved ones regularly helps you with all these issues. Verbalizing your feelings to your co-teacher, family member and a friend will placate the tension and stress. The next thing that most people do when they feel stressed out is to eat When we are stressed, our bodies release stress hormones such as cortisol and adrenaline into our bloodstream Cortisol is known as the ‘stress hormone’ and it causes us to feel tense, anxious, and even irritable (American Psychological Association). This can make it very difficult for teachers to concentrate on their work when they are feeling stressed because their bodies are not functioning properly. Therefore, the best way that teachers can help themselves cope with stress is by eating a healthy diet that consists of fruits and vegetables along with lean meats and whole-grain bread (Dictionary.com).
When a person is experiencing stress it can hurt their health and well-being Many people turn to food for comfort or to help them forget the worries or emotions they are feeling at the time. For some teachers, this could be an effective coping mechanism but for others, it may not be the best idea because it could lead to weight gain and other health problems down the road. However, teachers are expected to be role models for young students and should have good self-control over their eating habits to maintain a positive image as well as set an example for students who look up to them as leaders and examples of good behavior However, when teachers experience high levels of stress they may begin eating unhealthy foods such as candy bars or chips which could lead them towards gaining weight over time if they continue this habit throughout their career as a teacher In addition, when teachers experience high levels of stress they tend to drink more often which has been shown in past research studies (“Stress”)
In addition to eating a healthy diet that will help teachers cope with stress, they should also make sure that they get enough sleep each night so that their bodies can recover from the stressful situation they were in before going to bed. Getting enough sleep each night will allow teachers’ brains to function at an optimal leve them to be more productiv stress effectively (Dictionary.c
