You and me, poles apart, yet we both exist, Me and my independent thinking, Seeks emancipation away from the cage, Away from the patriarchal orders,

I behold my dreams and happiness fly And, on the same plane, you're there, With a conservative and manipulative setting, How you've imbibed the patriarchy,

And, pose a threat to me, all the time, Without moving and uttering a promising word! From the seven seas, I brought breeze for you, Only to be humiliated and abused,

For the sake of making another woman free, You've made me the staunch enemy of your family, Ah! What have I got for extending help!

As I've learnt the need for self-love,

I've stopped reacting and reciprocating, Even refrained from helping you out, For you don't deserve anyone but you, To teach you the need for self-respect.

Strange is the world where we live, A rational woman is a threat, Even to a woman who is all tied, Yet, she won't move her finger a bit, And, clme closer and break the ice. And so, I discern of letting it be, Let me not hate or vilify myself, Sometimes you don't participate,

And that's perfectly sane and affordable, Let me just be myself, breathing and ignoring.
