BRANDING The logo represents the flowy form of the river. At the same time, it features the asymmetric but unified shapes from different parts of the river and the surrounding environment and conveys the sense of peacefulness.
yĂŞn.
CONCEPT RIVER OF LIFE River of Life is built upon the idea of the river forms and textures, generating free-flow spaces that are shielded from the nature around the river and create a strong connection throughout different spaces. This concept brings in a soothing natural environment to a busy life setting and reflects the transition in patients’ minds as they enter the facility in a healing environment for patients and their families.

CONCEPT PERMEATION FUSION One of the values that determines the success of a company is whether the employees feel belonging and happy when they work together. In Marimekko, an international company, employees coming from different cultures could be a challenge to create an environment where everyone feel connected. Permeating Fusion takes inspiration from the combination of different cultures to design a workplace that permeates the cultural boundaries. By taking the most significant Marimekko 2D patterns and bringing them into 3D features around the office in an open workplace, employees can be inspired from their company’s creativity in a different way and enhance the sense of a community.

03 SNAP-ON INNOVATION LAB Location: Kenosha, Wisconsin, USA Site Area: 4,000 sqf Program Used: Revit, Vray, Adobe Photoshop Team project with SCAD Interior Design students Allison Paci, Thomas Hoyos and Regina Urquiza
Snap-on is an American company that specializes in manufacturing and marketing high-end tools and equipment. This project is to create a space within Innovation Works to hold Snap-on’s new Display Garage, highlight their digital products, shop management software, repair information, and other Snap-on tools. This space should mimic the layout and experience of going to a high-end car dealership with a reception area and visibility into the garage. The reception area should take the form of a high-end waiting room that can showcase the “connected garage of the future”.

CONCEPT SPEED FLUIDITY TRANSPARENCY Looking at the fundamental characteristics of Snap-on, transparency, speed, and fluidity all come to mind. Keeping an open relationship between the provider and the customer is essential, especially in the innovation lab. Lighting and form is imperative when attempting to sculpt a unique environment for users to work and entertain in. The multifaceted space will be comprised of materials that hone in on separating spaces whilst keeping the space transparent. By doing so, the Innovation Lab will emulate Snap-on’s core characteristics while providing an unprecedented experience to clientele.

Each of them is emphasized as they are all equally important for the users. Each room in the building is color-coded in order to help ASD patients navigate easily. The signages of room number are featured largely with the color assigned to each particular room will ensure that the patient will not get lost on their way to find the room they want.

My furniture selection is strongly based on their function that meets the need for the users in the building. With the universal design principle, all the chairs used in the rooms are stackable and light-weight, and all the tables are height-adjustable. Whenever people on wheelchair want to use the tables, they can lift the chairs and stack them together easily.

The Charlotte Mecklenburg Library of the Future will be a network of vibrant, learning-based community center hubs with supplemental kiosks that will strive to improve lives in the Charlotte community by providing opportunities to learn and connect. The design of each hub will be streamlined with a kit of parts, a collection of programmatic elements that can be added or subtracted based on the needs of each location. Defining the critical elements of a successful, forward-thinking library will attract and engage the public of today and in the future.
