programs, is welcome and encouraged. If you have ideas for improvement, let us know. On another note - most of the sports programs and leagues are organized and run completely by volunteers. If you are looking to give back to your community, we urge you to become involved with any of these programs by volunteering to be a coach or assistant coach, an administrator, referee, field liner, or team parent. Any help or expertise you can offer would be welcomed and greatly appreciated by program organizers. —Meg Heinen General Manager and Media Consultant Teton Valley News

Lacrosse Jackson Hole Lacrosse Club The Jackson Hole Lacrosse Club is a registered non-profit 501(c) organization providing the youth of Jackson Hole the opportunity to learn and participate in the sport of Lacrosse, America’s fastest growing sport. Teams are open to boys and girls age 6 through high school. Volunteers are dedicated to promoting the sport of lacrosse and to developing our player’s skills, sportsmanship, teamwork and accountability in a healthy and fun environment. Home practice and game fields are adjacent to the Jackson Hole Middle School, Jackson Hole High School and Davey Jackson Elementary School. When: The main Spring season runs from April into early June, and the casual Fall
season from September into November. PHILOSOPHY: The philosophy of the club is to develop players’ skills and understanding of the game, provide for inclusion and flexibility for players and their families, to have a good time and to play safely and be respectful of players, coaches, and referees. Although the club wants to field a team that can travel and play in regional tournaments, we also want the kids to be able to participate in other sports or activities if they choose. An appropriate level of fitness training is required for skill development; drills, small scrimmages and conditioning are a part of each practice. The coaches teach the rules and safety precautions to minimize the risk of injuries.
