Fascination Randomizer

································································································

For this assignment I created a banner for my website. The idea is that with each new visit, a fresh image is being generated out of elements that derive from a database, filled with my fascinations. No visit will ever be the same.

Living Domestic Object

································································································

I invented a living domestic object. By making it ‘alive’, the user is forced to take care over the object. Otherwise it will die. The object has need for affection, nutrition and daily walks, just like a real living animal. The appearance of the object is shaped by the way it is being maintained. When the object dies, it can’t be fixed again.

Self-deprecation

································································································

Somewhat strange, I discovered I find it very pleasurable to ridicule myself. Over and over again, I see it coming back as a tendency in my projects. My face as a tool for all sorts of applications.

Sensual shapes

································································································

I participated in a bronze workshop, where I learned the whole, elaborate process of bronzecasting. At first, it starts with the actual creation of shapes in wax. Bronze is a material which is mostly casted as a shell. Therefore I wanted to create hollow shapes. I was intrigued by the visual tension of blown-up shapes. That’s why I started making plaster molds of blown up condoms. By casting hot wax in these molds, I created a large variety of loose parts. By melting them togheter in all sorts of ways, I developed a whole series of sensual shapes.
