Decentralised Drive Controls Decentralised drive controls allow machine builders and conveyor manufacturers to design systems in a modular format where the motor starters, soft starters, motor isolators and variable speed controllers etc are fitted directly on to the motor or close to it. The control units are fitted with plug-able connectors that communicate readily with any PLC Commands. In fact built in intelligent software may even eliminate the need for a PLC completely.

The new type of controller ‘VECTOR Vibrodrive’ is a modular design and perfect for customised special-purpose solutions. The series begins with the ‘VECTOR Vibrodrive’ to control vibrating bowl conveyors and vibrating linear conveyors. Integrated adjustable inputs for communication with light barriers and other sensors are included in all controllers.

The Vector 54 is a Frequency Converter with a modulated attachment, which as a standard offers excellent market value for equipment using simple applications. With optional integrated modules it can be modified into a controlling device with vector control.

The soft start device SAE 3 a bi-directional power semi-conductor that is integrated into one of the phases. By controlling its firing angle in a time-dependant manner only a small current flows into one of the phases. The current is steadily increased until the max. current flow is reached.

Motor Starter Field Power® MOT

Decentralised Drives save energy, installation time and money. Power is saved by incorporating intelligent ON/OFF software so that conveyors do not continually run un-necessarily. All decentralised drives are supplied with an Integrated Fieldbus System AS Interface, Profi-bus, 24V PLC signal. All motor starters are electronic making them fast and reliable.

A complete range of snap on motor starters and frequency inverters is available where motor management applications can be built directly on to the motor. All units are designed to be used with an integrated power distribution system (Fieldpower by Weidmuller) and integrated Field Bus interface, AS Interface, Profibus DP, 24V binary etc.
