Andy Muskrat, FIRST BAPTIST WACO WORSHIP MINISTRY

Andy serves as the worship pastor at First Baptist Church Waco and joined the staff in August 2019. He has also served on church staff in the DFW area, Houston and Northwest Arkansas. Born in Joplin, Missouri and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina where his parents served as music missionaries with the International Mission Board. He is a graduate of Baylor University ‘05 with a B. M. in Church Music / Piano and a graduate of B. H. Carroll Theological Institute ‘12 with a Master of Arts in Worship. Andy has a passion for leading worship in all styles of music where classical, traditional and contemporary worship are all incorporated in the same service. He and his wife, Heather, have four children, Jacob, Braeden, Jamie and Helen.

David Talaguit, BIBLICAL COMMUNITY CHURCH, RICHARDSON

David Talaguit often writes music for Mesquite ISD of which the most recent was a commissioned piece, “Light Shines Brightest”, performed by MISD teachers to uplift students during the 2020 lockdown. His works have been featured in many of MISD’s Elementary Fine Arts Festivals. One of his passions is conducting Orff-based Music Seminars which he has been privileged to do in Dallas, Amarillo, Alabama, Honduras and most recently, back to his roots, the Philippines. His latest work includes being the guest conductor of Wylie ISD’s 4th Grade All City Choir virtual concert, which featured his composition “Por La Vida”. He has been the general music teacher at Motley Elementary School and Music Director for Biblical Community Church since 1998.

David studied Music Education with a Voice concentration at SMU Meadows School of the Arts. He also finished his Orff Levels certification from the same institution.

Art Wellborn, FIRST WOODWAY BAPTIST CHURCH

Art comes from a long line of ministers and musicians. His father was a pastor and his mother was the church pianist in every single church they served in, so he was raised in the middle of church and church music. He began leading worship for the children’s ministry and youth ministry at First Woodway in Waco when he was in high school, then after graduating he joined the youth staff as the worship leader. He went to Baylor University and continued leading for the youth as well as serving in the Sunday morning worship band from 2011-2015. In 2015 he moved to the Dallas area and served as a worship leader at Community Life Church. 10 months later, Art felt God calling him back to Waco to join the worship staff at First Woodway. In addition to leading there, he travels with his band leading worship for various events. Art is married to Maddie, and they have one child named Wesley.

Robert Pendergraft, UNIVERSITY OF MARY HARDIN-BAYLOR DEPARTMENT OF MUSIC

Church Music @UMHB is led by Robert Pendergraft, PhD. Students in church music are led to serve in the local church while preparing for vocational ministry. The group leading at this year’s annual meeting is a collection of UMHB Music students that are serving in local churches in the Central Texas area.
