2013 Tournament Recap The 2013 Valero Texas Open as a whole saw one of the most successful and exciting tournaments in its rich 91-year history with bigger crowds, a strong competitive field and a great champion in Martin Laird. Together with the Benefit for Children, the Valero Texas Open raised $10 million for charity and will positively impact hundreds of worthy causes! It was a week to remember for the players, corporate sponsors, volunteers, patrons and certainly for Laird. In an effort to help you reflect on this year’s tournament and prepare for 2014, we have assembled these highlights to recap another special year of the Valero Texas Open.

SETTING THE STAGE TPC San Antonio TPC San Antonio opened in January 2010 with two 18-hole championship golf courses designed by two of golf’s most innovative architects: Pete Dye and Greg Norman. The golf courses offer two different playing experiences. Norman who collaborated with Sergio Garcia on the AT&T Oaks Course features narrow, tree-lined fairways. The AT&T Canyons Course features wide fairways and panoramic views of the adjoining 700+ acre nature preserve. The AT&T Oaks Course has served as the venue for the PGA TOUR’s Valero Texas Open since 2010. TPC San Antonio is a private resort, only accessible to club members and their guests as well as guests of the JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort and Spa. In addition to two challenging golf courses, TPC San Antonio features a 23-acre practice facility with two putting and short game practice areas as well as the best in golf instruction at the TOURAcademy. Whether you are seeking an environment for weekend golf or looking to entertain clients on the golf course, the possibilities at TPC San Antonio are endless.

JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort & Spa Just 20 minutes from downtown San Antonio and the airport, the JW Marriott San Antonio Resort and Spa is situated in Texas Hill Country in Cibolo Canyons, where crystal clear streams and towering oak and cedar trees meet the majesty of the hills. The elements of authentic roots, hacienda style, beautiful views and healing waters serve as the inspiration in bringing this magnificent resort to life. The Hill Country resort features 1,002 hotel rooms, 265,000-square-feet of meeting and event space, the sophisticated Lantana Spa, and world-class accommodations blended with Texas hospitality. 6

Commitment To Giving Back The Valero Texas Open and Benefit for Children Golf Classic together raised a record $10 million for children’s charities – shattering the previous record of $9 million, raised each of the past two years. Through its history, the Texas Open has raised $86 million for charities – $81.5 million of that since 2002, when Valero became the tournament’s title sponsor. The tournament has been ranked #1 seven out of the last eight years on the PGA TOUR charitable leaderboard. Funds were raised through Valero Texas Open sponsorships combined with the Valero Benefit for Children Golf Classic – a golf tournament in which a record 2,400 participants played on Monday, April 8 at 11 of San Antonio’s premier golf courses. For the first time ever, all Benefit for Children sponsorships were sold out. The Valero Texas Open also raised charitable dollars through its pro-am golf tournaments, the Birdies for Charity program in which nonprofit organizations solicit pledges for every birdie made during tournament week, and the Chip In for Schools program, which allows schools to sell discounted tournament tickets and keep all the proceeds. The record fundraising total just highlights what a tremendous tournament it was,” said Joe Gorder, President & COO of Valero Energy Corporation and Chair of the 2013 Valero Texas Open. “We had an excellent field of players, and the position we had the week before the Masters, as well as the new leadership of the Valero Texas Open, generated a lot of excitement about the tournament. 8

Founded in 2003, the Trailblazers are a volunteer group of business leaders dedicated to supporting the Valero Texas Open and its charitable mission through the sale of corporate recognition and benefit packages associated with the tournament. Trailblazers come from diverse professions and industries, providing their time, talent, energy and contributing valuable insight and a wide range of experience to the Valero Texas Open. This select group of civic leaders has helped to elevate the profile of the Valero Texas Open among the business community and has made a direct impact on the event’s fund raising efforts – which supports hundreds of worthy charities around San Antonio and throughout Texas. Please give them full consideration when they call upon you to share why the Valero Texas Open may be a good fit for your business. Birdies for CharityŽ is a fundraising program designed to give participating organizations the opportunity to generate contributions through the Valero Texas Open. Birdies for Charity is a no-cost program that gives 100% of the funds raised back to the participating organization. Funds are generated by soliciting pledges from individuals and corporations. Birdies for Charity is like a walk-a-thon, but instead of donating per mile, participants make a pledge for every birdie made at the Valero Texas Open. The 2013 Valero Texas Open had 1,640 birdies made, so a pledge of $0.01 yielded a donation of $16.40. Donors also have the ability to make a one-time donation and flexibility to pay in advance or be billed after the tournament. Donations are accepted from anywhere around the world and are tax deductible. Chip In for Schools is a program initiated by the Valero Texas Open to help participating schools earn money for their school programs (student groups, sport teams, classes, etc.) by selling advanced tickets to the Valero Texas Open for $15 each and keep 100% of the proceeds. The funds raised through Birdies for Charity and Chip In for Schools contribute to the overall total of charitable funds raised through the Valero Texas Open and the Benefit for Children Golf Classic, which raised $10 million in 2013, topping its previous high-water mark of $9 million in 2011 and 2012. 33
