Cards Down Mexico Poly A 211 \ and Phillip Primm to Bill Worsham touchdown pass in the fading seconds of the game gave Lamar Tech a 33-26 victory over Mexico Poly in Mexico City. The lead changed hands several times after a scoreless first quarter. The Cardinal' first touchdown by Tommy Winn was called back on a holding penalty. The Cardinals, who had not played since the East Texas State game because of cancellation of the Sam Houston State contest, got rolling in the second period and scored twice on plunges by Richard Prejean and Dan Yezak to lead 13-7 at half-lime. Tech's Prejean added six points in the third quarter and the Cards tacked on 14 in the final period for a total of 33. In a wild fourth quarter, Eugene Washington put Tech ahead 26-20, but Mexico Poly recovered a fumble on the Cardinal 11 and swept over to tie the score before the Redbirds' final drive. Lamar Tech's band and twirlers, something not often seen in Mexico, received an ovation from the 25.000-plus spectators for its halftime performance. -
