April Lyon Woven Textile Designer 2014/2015
“The process of woven textiles has always been at the core of my work, understanding the time taken within each woven structure.” “This collection explores and experiments with the boundaries of weave through scale and structure, developing colour and texture through drawing and photography. Inspiration for this collection is based on photographs of water in its different forms and states. The reflections within a puddle, the crystilasation of ice and the saturation of colour inspire my drawings and ideas, allowing me to create high quality fabrics in respones to my research and developments. Within my work as a craft practioner, I am always striving for creative and innovative design which reflects a high level of craftsmanship, quality and value. The fabrics created within in this collection can be used within interiors or fashion.”
