Digital Garden
Digital Garden “Digital Garden portrays the world of nature, as though viewed and filtered through the use of modern technology. It translates how natural elements inform shape, pattern and surfaces in combination with digital components. By blurring, blending and fusing warm/cold tones with one another. The project is an exploration of how we have become reliant upon technology, more so questioning how will we stay connected with nature and its tactility as we continue to interact with the electronic world. Will the way we perceive nature change in the future? Through the use of structure, print and CAD, designs will be configured to create the illusion of how nature may be understood and viewed as technologies advance. The key focus and theme throughout is nature, using silhouettes and shadows which will be disrupted and pixelated through digital printing in collision with mixed media, creating voids of transparency and the movement of shifting light between surface patterns. Also applying the use of traditional screen printing methods for a decorative, phosphorescent, tactile and layered aesthetic, with a shaded vision like quality. The collection of innovative prints that have been developed will be translated, taken from fashion inspiration into being applied to changeable accessory products for the interior space.
