Project Statement Tactile Geometrics is a commercial collection for interiors, enhancing spaces and atmosphere within public areas through the use of layering and exposure The design inspiration derives from basic geometric shapes, influenced by a sponsored brief set by the trend forecasting company, Scarlet Opus. Designs were created and displayed within a trend hub at The Flooring Show in Harrogate, to encourage large-scale commercial companies to embrace colour and pattern in the flooring sector. This theme was then later motivated by the ‘Inspire’ in-house design project and developed further still by the choice of market. The aim was to create unique and unusual interior surfaces that posses the ability to establish an individual vibe, allowing people to enjoy the space in which they inhabit The concept of the project was to experiment with layering of materials and pattern, exposing small spaces of a screen-protected booth permitting the intimacy that we desire without creating a sense of isolation or entrapment
