Hollie Wards first denim fabric collection is based around using British resources and British materials to bring back manufacturing to the UK. The warp yarn is a rope dyed indigo 100% cotton that was purchased from Fairfield Yarns in Rochdale as pre consumer waste. The weft is 100% British Gotland and Lleyln wool purchased from The Natural Fibre Company. The collection includes raw and treated selvedge denim woven in Huddersfield on a 1954 Hutchinson Hollingworth shuttle loom specifically woven for this collection and handwoven wool and cotton blends by Ward on an ARM loom. The garments have then been constructed by Harper and Carr in York. This collection aims to highlight simple, utilitarian clothing that provides artisan skill and production showcasing honesty in the entire process of production.
