Lucy Littler Textile Designer Press Pack
I am a creative and enthusiastic textile designer. The following pieces were inspired by research on the rich colours and textures of flowers. I have taken summery florals to create a Chunky Winter Knitwear Collection. I have used the rich colours from the flowers I photographed and drawn from, the purples, the pinks, the greens. I found that these colours came together to form a beautiful colour pallete for an Autumn/Winter Collection. I have used many knitting techniques to create unique and imaginative pieces for my collection. The collection is aimed at a high end ladieswear market.

A diagonal Cable encorporating popcorns to add colour
Very chunky and interesting piece, with flashes of colour to add depth.
A simple tuck repeat creates this bright and chunky fabric.
This hand-manipulated reverse tuck with flashes of colour creates yet another interesting chunky fabric for a ladieswear range.
Popcorns have proven to be highly popular in winter knitwear, this design uses contrasting coloured popcorns.
This sample is very textured and colourful.
Lucy Littler 11 Martin Bank Wood Huddersfield HD5 8LJ Tel. 07722 984 921 Dear Ms Ayres, I hope you are well. I am interested in applying for the Accessories Designer position advertised. Please find enclosed a copy of my CV. I am currently in my final year of Study at the University of Huddersfield. In June I will graduate with a BSc in Textiles Design, specialising in knitted textiles. Last year I worked on placement as a technologist at supplier in Nottingham, the company supplied socks, hosiery and accessories to High Street retailers. During my placement year I had to lias with both customers and factories, which helped me to build strong communication skills. I was in daily contact with factories in China, Pakistan, Turkey and Portugal, as well as experiencing for myself working in the companies own UK plant. I have a lot of experience working to briefs and to tight deadlines from my placement and my university course and I have built up a range of useful skills including strong skills in Photoshop and Illustrator as well as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel. My time at University has given me chance to develop further my presentation skills and my time on placement has help build my confidence by participating in meetings both within the company and out at fit sessions with customers. I have built up a strong portfolio of design work throughout my degree and placement year. Whilst on Placement I had the opportunity to design socks, bags, hats, gloves, scarves and underwear for all markets. I am a very enthusiastic person with a positive outlook and I would love the opportunity to come and work at the company. Furthermore, I believe my creative talents could be a great asset to the company. I look forward to hearing from you soon, Yours Sincerely,
Lucy Littler
