Home and work life are seen to interlock seamlessly through this modular trend which works to provide solutions for individuals and alternative family structures seeking versatile living as a result of fragmented and confused lifestyles where work, home and socialising are increasingly blurred. An increase in living prices and human population in urban areas has led to smaller confined living. Therefore, flexible spaces are crucial in providing practicality and minimalism for an interchangeable work and living style to suit multiple needs. The consumer takes on a DIY customisation attitude towards the way that they live. Where they are empowered to compose their own lives and feel in control; with new choices and possibilities enabled through products with upgrade lifestyles. Perfect for individuals who constantly seek change and embrace the new.

A hybrid direction of materials is adopted to support the mix and match upgrade culture, where modules are composed from opposing textures and tones which can be selected to suit the changing needs of any environment or room. Natural elemental sources of materials are explored and celebrated from wood, clay, stone and metal; providing a simplistic artisan quality to products. In contrast, lacquers are used to create a polished finish to these raw materails, bringing them harmoniously into a modern environment with sleek shine and sharp lines that provide a trace of luxuary. A raw palette can be extracted from natural hard materials, while man-made components and lacquers introduce bold monochrome blocks with shots of vivid colour.
