Introduction
Motion is a dedication to all forms of water, inspired by the popular focus on the Rio Olympics and future film releases. The Favelas of Rio drive the colour palette and the direction in which children’s lifestyle is heading. Designers are taking a stand against the norm and doing something different and exciting much like the locals that inhibit these Favelas. Motion highlights the need to develop children’s personalities, bringing there wants and needs into focus. Juxtapositions of the parents’ style to their children’s combine to create bespoke pieces. The feeling of swimming in the ocean lends itself to imagination and escapism for the younger generation. Timeless classics will be created by the use of bold illustrative designs with bright accents of colour, creating stories that are focused around water and its variety of habitats. Autu mn/Winter 16-17 sees the start of something new, as if the old is getting washed away to make way for this new revolution of design.

Clown Orange
Deep bright blues merge with slate greys, neutral tones complemented by vibrant colours of the ocean. Industrial colours combine with the pure colours that water creates.
Terracotta Beige

Sunshine Y ellow
Rustic White
Midnight Pink
Development
Changes will occur throughout 2016, mimicking the movement of the sea. The industry will move on and children will start to develop their personalities and start exploring the world through lifestyle changes.
Escapism
Free flowing imagination, which allows children to express themselves and escape into a world of fantasy. Subtle features to create curiosity and illusion are complimented by bold prints.
Whimsical
Magical features of the unknown depths of the sea are highlighted. Children are to be children and use their imagination and playfulness to their advantage. Joyful patterns enlighten the clothing to create a whimsical nature.
Bespoke
Much like the challenges the ocean, bespoke pieces for home and fashion will be created to develop personalities and allow for children to be more connected to their lifestyle items.
Co-exist
Motion is about the want to co-exist within the shared natural environment. It appeals to the parents natural desire to have a personalised home but allow the children to add creativity and fun, Designs for children but not designed by children.
Timeless
Timeless pieces that will be carried through generations, hand me downs will grow in popularity, with the natural flow of water carrying change down the river of society and fabrics
Connected treasure
Classic Twists bring nostalgia to products, charming the parents via a tribute. Bringing a connection to the fashion and interiors and joining the parents tastes together with the children’s interests in mind.
Material & Textile Preview
With Comfort in mind organic cottons will be a softening fabric to be worn with chunky knits that are multi-coloured emulating the iridescent nature of the ocean. Textured layers with chiffons and silks will replicate the texture of water. Ice wash denims will be used to help create water driven design.
Print &Graphics Preview
Tie dye, inky, water like prints will be complimented by illustrative all over prints in a graphic style. Bursts of colour throughout the prints will flow like the sea. Fun and interactive prints that will do more than just look great but connect with children and help them start to develop a style to suit their unique personalities so that children can be children.
