KEY WORDS SURREALISM (frees itself of rational control and bases its content on dreams and unconscious drives) HYPNOTHERAPY ( can access the subconscious mind thus producing a altered state of mind in which the actual functioning of thought and creativity can produce images in the absence of cognitive control exercised by reason) The above brief definitions explain in simple form the link between hypnotherapy and surrealist art. The project \i have produced is based on my dream interpretations and visualisations during out of body experiences, either whilst sleeping or under hypnosis. During these experiences I have been able to exercise the muscle of creative visualisation . I have discovered an enhanced capability of visualising different 3D illusions. I still consider this to be a work in progress and remain open to be guided by my visual experiences as opposed to rational thought processes. The project, although based on dream visualisations has inspired me to then continue to experiment with a variety of different processes such as different layering techniques, 3D forms and detailed repetition. I would hope to continue to produce art through the vehicle of surrealistic experiences, whereby I can exercise the muscle of creativity (visual, auditory, verbal and emotional) which is stored in the subconscious and thereby to access the previously inaccessible landscape of the subconscious and the powerful creativity contained therein. This journey can be achieved through the use of the vehicle of hypnotherapy and also the natural dream state.
