Project Statement
As a textile designer, I have chosen a project that relates to a growing ethical concern regarding the levels of waste that are becoming more prevalent issues in today’s society. There are concerns about the rise in textile waste, which has occurred because of the popularity of fast fashion. Consumers are driving this trend because they want cheap fashionable clothing. This project aims to promote an awareness of the issues of left over clothing that is being thrown away, by re-using existing materials in other textiles in order to help alleviate the extent of waste textiles.
