IDIOSYNCRATIC BETH HEATON SURFACE DESIGNER [PRESS PACK]
I am a surface designer involved with alternative designs that can be viewed as slightly odd and interesting. My designs are not the typical pretty ones you see alternatively they are slightly dark and futuristic. Surface design has made me a very skilled designer with heaps of confidence and experience.
IDIOSYNCRATIC Idiosyncratic is a mixture of skin textures and the moulds that can be achieved from different objects. This project has led to some exciting new techniques and is forever surprising me with the beautiful content it gives me. Pushing outside of my comfort zone has been a pleasure with this project as I am striving to go to a darker more alternative side. Skin is so beautiful and versatile it offers so much more that can be done with it. This project has led me to a new market which I have never delved into before which is materials libraries. Working with my own body and models bodies is very creative for me as I get to use the human body as a real life canvas that I can move and manipulate to which ever way I wish. Rubber silicone has been my end product that I wish to continue to explore what route it will take idiosyncratic down.
