It’s is nicknamed, the "Gibraltar of the North." Luxembourg is officially divided into 24 districts, but the some of which are: Ville Haute ("High City"), the medieval town core, Ville Basse ("Low City") situated in the gorge that cuts itself across the city, Gare ("Station"), the location of the train station, a 15min walk south of Ville Haute with its many restaurants and cafes and Kirchberg. The Casemates Bock is a network of underground fortifications, built in the 18th century, that tunnel under the city. The fortifications are recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Bock itself is the rock on which the first castle - founded in 963 by Sigefroy (Sigfried) - stood. Day 1: Friday 11 November/ American Cemetery and Luxembourg City Tour We will depart Rose Barracks Langenbruck Center at 02:30 and the Grafenwoehr Burger King at 03:00. Today we visit the Luxembourg American WWII Cemetery in the morning and enjoy a walking tour of Luxembourg in the afternoon. After the tour we will have some free. The Cemetery is the final resting place for 5,076 American soldiers, most lost during the Battle of the Bulge. It is also the final resting place for General George S. Patton. A monument is inscribed with the names of 371 Americans whose remains were never found or identified. Day 2: Saturday 12 November/ Boat Cruise on Mosel River and Wine Tasting After breakfast we leave our hotel for our Mosel boat cruise. After the Mosel boat cruise we journey to Wellenstein to do our wine tasting which will includes three different kinds of wines. When the wine tasting finishes we will have the opportunity to purchase some of this wonderful wine. Following this the rest of the day is free and you get to decide what you would like to do. Day 3: Sunday 13 November/ Free Half Day Today we will have half the day for some free time for an opportunity for some last minute souvenir shopping. We then depart for the Grafenwoehr Community.
