Tudor Grange Enrichment Trust

Spring 2015 Newsletter

Welcome

Welcome to the first ever newsletter from your schools charitable trust. The Trust was initially established to raise funds for the sports hall and in more recent years has helped a number of special projects to aid the enrichment of pupils at Tudor Grange Academy. The charitable trust receives donations through Parent Pay, regular direct debit payments from parents, past pupils and with the support of the school a number of events. You may have seen our Trustees at the School induction day. For more information visit the schools website for details.

Introducing The Better Classrooms Fund The environment and technology in the classrooms is a key part of enthusing pupils, giving teachers the tools to aid education and to allow greater efficiency for learning. Imagine the frustration if you don’t like the room your are working in or if you wish to show that useful clip on Youtube but you cant. In these challenged budget times the Tudor Grange Enrichment Trust has launch a capital project to fund eight classrooms, fitting them with state of the art information technology and decorating them.

Each classroom costs £8,000.00 and will provide enhanced equipment and a new lease of life to the Schools Classrooms to further enrich the education provided. To aid progress of the Fund, a “Totaliser” is being placed in the School reception to show progress in the coming months. Please continue to support your schools charitable trust so we can aid the enrichment of learning at Tudor Grange Solihull.

Van’s and reading do mix… The charitable trust has supported a number of key activities in 2014. For the English department it funded the acquisition of x number of Kindle Readers. These readers encouraged and allowed pupils greater choice of books and a different reading experience. A Minibuslite was also purchased with contributions from the Trust, this bus has allowed an expansion of curricular and non-curricula trips that enrich the education and learning experience of the pupils. Unlike the other minibuses, this bus is slightly smaller allowing more teaching staff to use this facility.

July School Dress Down Day In July the School will have a dress down day in aid of the “Better Classroom Fund”. Don’t forget every pound raised goes directly towards class room improvements.

Make a Donation To make a donation or regular pledge is easy, either visit “Parent Pay” searching under your child’s name for the “Enrichment Trust Better Class Rooms” fund.
